Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
Boredom strikes, peaked offseason is peaked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Very few times we actually get a chance to do something of the sort; we've got the type of versatility probably only rivaled by the Warriors. Wasn't going to do more than one but time flew
Team All Buckets - Small ball from hell, crazy versatility from 1-5. Absolutely nobody stopping this unit from getting buckets, nobody period. In turn, a very underrated defensive unit.
-Bosh
-McBob
-Deng
-Wade
-Dragic
Team All Defense - Justise Winslow: 220, ball handling skills, SF wingspan, can get to the cup almost at will with a somewhat natural feel on defense. Mismatch at the 1 every 4/7 times(don't ask how I got those numbers). The combined wing-span from Justise on the perimeter to Hassan under the rim would give the Bucks nightmares.
-J Wins
-Wade
-Deng
-Bosh
-Whiteside
Team All Shooters - Literally like 75% of our shooters in the same line-up, range from 1-5. Probably not one of our better defensive line-ups or even offensive line-ups for that matter but cool enough to mention that we can do that. lol
-Dragic
-G.Green
-Deng
-McBob
-Bosh
Vice/Lob City - This is likely the epitome of how liberal Spo's positionless basketball will get. A otherwise random combination of versatility+ athleticism but a fun one.
-J Wins
-Wade
-Green
-McBob
-Whiteside
PnR/PnP Pimpin' - Dang-er-ous PnR, 4 accessible spot up shooters with one of our streakiest shooters. Green being the catalyst to some of our best PnR combinations
-Dragic
-J Wins
-Green
-Bosh
-Amar'e
Team Fleet! - Small ball 4 vs. the field. This is likely in stride of how well the team is doing and if it would be worth it to sacrifice some size(situational). I might have done this one wrong, but still a very quick line-up... was attempting our best line-up in transition
- Dragic
-TJ/Green
-J Wins
-Deng
-Bosh
If you can think of any other good ones feel free... And I know I didn't add Rio to any of them; he's just boring in comparison lol

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
I'd have Richardson and/or TJ on the all defense team. Those guys bother the other team. Per 100 possessions: TJ 105 DRTG, Chalmers 107, Green, Ennis, & Wade 108.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

You're right, that's a lot better, also helps the 3pt% disparity in that line-up... lot better than my original
If you go with Tj then you have to put Winslow at the 2 and lose a little size advantage but still a tough line-up. Tj is damn near smaller than Curry so I wouldn't attempt to try to fit em' as a 2. Rich is a rookie but his 6'10 wingspan makes that line-up unfair, if he can hit his open jumpers and has a level head on defense then they'd be unruly; the more experienced front court would have to take the load offensively to make everything run smoothly, but a really solid line-up
IMO might be the most versatile team in the league

Whiteside is really quick for a 7 footer and I'm really interested if they can translate his game into playing fast. Last year we didn't have the kind of spacing to make Whiteside Pick-n-Rolls really effective but if we can get a strong PnR/PnP game from Whiteside(especially PnP) than look out

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
“I’m trying to find spots where if I’m in a game with Dwyane Wade, Goran Dragic and Chris Bosh, where I can be most efficient,” said Winslow.
From this quote it looks like there are also plans to play Wins a lot of time with the starters(I'd assume) but unclear from this quote if it means small ball
Dragic
Wade
Deng
Wins
Bosh
or
Dragic
Wade
Wins
Bosh
Whiteside
He mentioned Bosh but not Whiteside is my reason for thinking so but it's a really vague quote so I'm just reaching in hindsight

He (Winslow) could have left Whiteside out because Whiteside already has his established role for the most part. We'll be seeing both lineups either way quite frequently.

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
Whiteside 25+ a night is a given, with all the speculation I'm not sure if 30+ will happen for him every night in the regular season but I doubt he averages much less than thirty in the playoffs

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
I think getting into early foul trouble early is what his MPG hinges on.
That Dallas game when Whiteside had 13 rebounds in the 1st quarter was one of the most disturbing games I've ever seen in terms of how someone who was so dominant was managed later in the game. Games like that is what really makes me to dislike Spo.

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
I think we will rely on Hassan too much next season to artificially limit his minutes. At least that's the hope, you never know with Spo

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
the player im most anticipated to see in our 2nd unit is Mcbob because as much as the general board craps on our bench he was a legit starter before he came here and i hope they run the 2nd unit offense through him most of the time until the rooks show some nba pg skills. i only saw a small sample of his skillset before he got injured and a few drills on youtube. can he play spot minutes at SF????

It might be plausible... but I don't think I would try it. McBob/Bosh/Whiteside would be killer tho

Add green with Dragic to that and u have spacing and size for Hassan to work inside and dragic to penetrate and kick out

I wouldn't trust McBob to guard other SF's but I think Bosh could definitely handle most assignments on that end and the help defense could be definitely interesting as well as the offense. That lineup just might be too slow to matchup with most line-ups and spread our bigs too thin, but then again I might be underestimating them, cause our bigs are really fast for their size- even Hassan, which is why I don't mind him being/staying in the 250-260 range.. could prolong his career in the long run if he keeps that discipline up as well

Didn't McRoberts guard Lebron a lot in our series vs Charlotte? Wasn't McRoberts giving Lebron a bit of a hard time?
I may be wrong, but this is how I remember it. If I'm right, then I don't see why he wouldn't be capable of guarding SF in spot minutes (mostly will consists of guarding backup SF)

That game was the final straw for me. Spo has been on my hit-list since that day.

Re: Your favorite(possible) second unit rotation
McBob can definitely play spot SF. As a matter of fact, I think the best way fully utilize him is when he is the primary ball-handler more often than not in the 2nd/3rd unit (or when Wade/Dragic are on the bench). In the last few games when McBob played, he was dangerous with his ball-handling and passing ability. I can see him being as portable as Diaw is with the Spurs but he needs the ball a little more until he is fully incorporated.
