As for the Mets, this right now is their chance if they ever had one before. Cespedes is hitting like Bonds in 01, and they have the pitching to go up against anyone in the league right now. Not getting Carlos Gomez turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise. I've never HATED the Mets, as a Yankee fan, simply because they've been that much of a threat and they play in a different league. I'm interested to see how far they get this season.
Sure is. Mets won't be any better next year tbh.
- Next year, the Mets are likely losing Cespedes, Murphy, K. Johnson, and Uribe.
- Wright isn't going to get any healthier. He's going to remain the slap hitter he is now.
- Plus, Duda has to get a new contract this off season.
- Clippard and Colon's contract expire next year too.
we could get a surprise and actually pay Cespedes. I think if we win it all this year, or come close the pressure will be on management (and financial incentive) Conforto will be a year better and our stud CFer will be healthy again. Also will have a full year of the 5 kids on the mound. Niese could wind up being a long relief next season.
