Have you not seen Fisher play? Kid is a bum. I watched him week in and week out as he stunk up the joint. Now he is a bench warmer on the team with possibly the worst OL in the NFL. I would rather let Davis play out his contract and not have to have Fisher on the roster.

I might also add that Reid was added right before the start of the regular season. The fact that they went out and got this guy, then named him the starter, speaks volumes about Fisher.

Vernon is a victim of Father Time, he is aging rapidly and when you are a player that depends on athleticism then that's no good. However adding Fisher is kind of pointless because he's just not a good player and is under a huge contract.

Vernon still has the wheels but lacks the fire. An earlier version of VD doesn't get taken out of bounds so easily one on one against a DB. An earlier version of VD tries recovering that 'looked to be fumble' by Kaepernick on 4th down.

It's both. While he's still a good athlete, he's not an elite athlete anymore, which is what separated him from the rest. Now he's just a good athlete that has questionable hands and route running.

It's also annoying that we have two TEs on the roster that I would trust over him in the receiving game. If he were in the same tax bracket as them, I'm sure he'd be benched by now, but for now he's being milked for all he's got and it isn't much.

Exactly. 2 years ago we were trying to win a damn SB.

Despite Carbtree (whom most people here wanted to give a contract in the 8-million-per-year range).

By the way, 5 catches; 37 yards and multiple drops week 1.

We were trying to win a SB despite Crabtree? Seriously? From week 13 on that season, he averaged 103 yards and had seven TDs in eight games, including 285 yards and three TDs in three playoff games. He accounted for a fairly astonishing 40% of receptions, 43% of receiving yards, and an even more incredible 64% of our receiving TDs during that run. He was one of the top receivers in the league during that span. And then he tore his Achilles and wasn't the same afterward. I'm not saying the guy would have been Dez Bryant with a good QB and a healthy Achilles, and I wouldn't have advocated giving him $8 million/year, but he was a huge part of our SB run.

And as you're so quick to point out, he's correct when he says that he's never played with even an above average passer.
