2016 draft/ College Football
I'm not sure I have a lot to say about the draft yet, except the Vikings probably need to draft some offensive lineman early.
I have been watching Leonard Fournette from LSU and he's pretty awesome. He's not draft eligible until 2017, which would be good timing for an Adrian Peterson replacement, but I'm guessing we'd have to be drafting in the top 15 to have a shot.

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
I think we're solid enough at tackle w/ Kalil/Loadholt/Clemmings and Spielman has never gone interior line early in the draft. I don't know Baltimore's cap situation, but Marshall Yanda will be a free agent. Alex Boone too; he has an off-field history, but it might be behind him. Don't recall anything recent, but I could be wrong.

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
I don't know, there just doesn't seem to be anyone rock solid on the offensive line. Sullivan and Loadholt have serious injury issues, Kalil and Clemmings still have a lot to prove, and our guards seem to be rotating 6th round picks or FA's that I've never heard of. It would be nice to have someone we could count on.
If we don't go O-line, we could go a lot of directions. I kind of like continuing to build a strong defense. We could go DE, LB or S. Offensively we're probably a year away from needing a RB but we still could use a strong #1 receiver.

I'm thinking WR or else WLB/MLB depending on how they view Kendricks and Hodges. I think both guys could play either LB spot, but I'm not yet sure where they thrive.

Josh Doctson of TCU looks pretty good as a receiver. Ezekiel Elliot busted off 3 50+TD runs in the 2nd half yesterday, he's probably the top RB available in this years draft.

If you ask me, which nobody did, I think to maximize Teddy's potential he needs to play out of the shotgun. Gives him more time to make decisions. Meaning, we need a RB who can play out of the shotgun. I like McKinnon, but he doesn't appear to be a feature back. Wouldn't surprise me if Adrian is gone in 2 years.

Would you take him if available? Could slide in nicely to replace Greenway. Kinda funny having 3 UCLA lb's, but he seems to be a pure football player with all those positions he's played.

I'm not that enamored with any lineman in the late 1st, I think we should take Derrick Henry as Peterson's heir apparent. Or trade down a few spots for CJ Prosise.

walterfootball's live mock today has Treadwell dropping to us, that'd be interesting
And Vadal Alexander in the 2nd. Can't argue with that.

better than Josh Doctson? the rumors are tying him to the Vikings. The hype is building...

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
probably not better, but if we can't get doctson in the first (or we go another direction) boyd will be there a round or two later most likely
if mike wallace comes back at less money i don't think they go wr in the first round

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
So where does Wendell Williams' 4.19 40, 45" vertical get drafted?
I'm skeptical he turns into anything b/c of his college production, but you can guarantee somebody selects him.

They cut Mike Wallace and signed a guard, so it looks like WR is a real option. Doctson, Boyd, and Michael Thomas are the names I've been hearing at receiver.

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
O-line seems pretty well addressed. Even if Sullivan and Loadholt can't play, we have bodies. And there's that center we traded for last year too - I don't know anything about him, but he's from Harvard, so I can only assume he's the next Matt Birk.
Have to figure WR is high on the list of priorities. Wouldn't mind looking at RB too. Maybe safety too.

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
I like Ezekial Elliott but I'd try to put off drafting a RB until next year. There's a good crop and AP seems like the type who'd be offended by us drafting a 1st round pick on his replacement. Of course maybe him being offended is a good thing, he plays better when he's angry.

So it's probably going to be Treadwell or Doctson, correct? I haven't heard anything else.

Re: 2016 draft/ College Football
i want best player available, the wrs from what i hear are fairly bunched up this year and we could get a pretty good one still in rounds 2-3
if there is a standout defensive guy there we'd like (that fell maybe) i say pull the trigger and get a wr later
