Hah, I can honestly say it even without a word from Markieff. I'd rather have a bag of chips (and a 1st round draft pick if possible) than Kieff on this team.

Me too. Like Patrick Patterson :)

And when will it start actually?

Will Coro be there? If so I don't see things going well with Kieff.

I would suggest you are closer to 'bashing' McD than I am to 'kissing his rear-end'. I've stated multiple times about the mistakes I feel he's made; I just choose to reognize that it takes time to build a contender, while others feel like we should already be sitting at the 4 Seed or higher, competing for an NBA Championship 2 years following the hiring of a new GM and HC.

Can you point to an example of when a team went from a sub .400 winning percentage, hiring a new GM and HC, and then went to a Conference Championship game two years later? Do you think this is something that happens often, or at least more often than not? I'd hazard a guess that the answer to that is 'no'. It takes time to develop draft picks--why is McD and Horny not given that time before fans 'completely lose confidence' in them? That's not 'kissing butt', that's called having reasonable expectations.

Can you point to an example of someone who says we should be 'contending' now... ? You are stretching trues to make some lollypop licking point about patience. Its not unreasonable to think after three off seasons we would have a defined core or identity. Fact is, this has been a shaky rebuild, full of roster gutting and directionless moves, that leave the experts and even the players wondering wtf we are doing.

I am tempering my bashing for the moment. McDo has been making reactionary moves running damage control for over a yr now. At least he has brought on some likable guys. Lets hope they can put a respectable product on the court.

Have you not read the forum over the past 6 months? It's ripe with 'sky is falling, we are drafting 13th again'. Here's entire threads about how we should 'suck for a year, then we'll be magically contenders' attitudes.

Many of those thoughts were from the beginning of this last season--if we just 'tanked', blah, blah, blah--poof, playoffs!

That's my point. We don't even know if what McD is doing is going to work or not--everyone seems fine with stinking up the joint, or so they say, until we actually stink up the joint, then McD should be fired.

We had a 'building corps', then Dragic and Kieff blew it up, and now it's MD's fault somehow???

That's the one. When I posted I was thinking to myself "Is Coro the right one? Yeah I'm sure it's that guy". Woops.

While he's partially probably trying to tell us what he knows is the right thing to say, I still think he likes his teammates, the coaches, and probably a big part of him does want to be here, but he was in a tough place trying to stand by his brother, which is understandable.

Also, I was just looking at the trade and transactions forum and it seems like most fans of other teams think he is a headcase, which is something he has never really been, so if that is a general feeling among other GMs, his trade value is probably not what it should be.

As much of the fanbase don't like him, he's still one of our best players.

I'd still trade him for decent value, but we can't be losing trades in our current state, and I don't think he is addition by subtraction, which some people say. He has never not gotten along with teammates or the coaches.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/239340/Markieff-Morris-I-Want-To-Be-Here-With-Suns

Markieff Morris backtracked from his offseason wishes to be traded during media day with the Phoenix Suns.

"I want to be here," Morris said.

Morris didn't elaborate on how has expressed unhappiness with the Suns since his brother, Marcus Morris, was traded to the Detroit Pistons.

"I'm looking forward to the season, not really trying to look at the past," Morris said. "I don't really want to talk about what I did in the summer. I really want to look forward to this up-and-coming season. Glad to be back with my teammates and glad to be back with the team."

When asked about his discord with the front office, Morris said, "It's between us and we're going to deal with it."

I guess we can move on from this garbage and finally look forward to the season :D

I know you are not meaning to be funny, but that made me laugh.

And even if he is lying, at least he is being professional about it.

Yeah, it looks like he'll be on this team at least until December :(
Sad news for us.

But maybe he can play decently enough to land us a nice trade.
Let's hope for the best.

I could care less if he's lying through his teeth. The fact that he's saying the right thing is a step in the right direction because he hasn't done that before. I'm willing to put it all in the past if he comes out and plays for the team. Despite what has transpired in the offseason I think that if they start the season playing well and winning that all will eventually be put aside. I love the leadership that Chandler is providing. It seems that everybody respects him on this team and that he could prove to be a calming influence on this team. I've heard it debated whether or not Chandler is really a leader but from what we are hearing early on it sure seems like he is.

I agree with you and if it's really sincere I'm willing to forget about it as well. However, I have a suspicion Ryan or someone within the organization probably sat down with him and told him if he really insists on getting traded, he needs to do X, Y, and Z in order to up his value so that they honor his request. It would not shock me if he was gone by the trade deadline.

I think some are disappointed that media day hasn't been more of a circus. Look, he was torqued about his brother being traded. He ranted some. It is over now. Move on. If it makes basketball sense to trade him, trade him, if not, then don't. Plain and simple.

Yes, nothing would shock me and I think there is a very good chance he is still traded, but I doubt it will be before Dec 15th because better trade options might be available then.

This may have been posted before, but I don't remember seeing it. Sonny Weems ripping the rim off the basket during a dunk.

Everyone that is still bitter needs to calm down. Worst case scenario we get a better haul when he is traded. Everybody wins.
