Re: dead forum
Here's something - headlines are saying that Paul George isn't happy with the pacers because of the small-ball and position change.
When in fact, his quote is basically that he prefers playing the 3 but is open to trying the 4.

Whoa. Has it been that bad?
Well...I guess it's because nothing matters right now.

Re: Slow.....................
I got really excited at my birthday a couple of weeks back, ordered my customary League Pass. Thought the season started this weekend, then realised it is another month.
I never understand why the NBA has to have such a long summer-break, real turn-off for me as the cricket has just finished as well!

Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

We are a quality over quantity board.
As for me, I watch the WNBA. As a league it's a lot better than it used to be, and as watchable as college men's in my opinion. The Fever are pretty good. They're in the Eastern Conference Finals and while they're down 0-1, I think they can come back.

Tamika Catchings is for real, and should hopefully go down as an Indy sports legend when she retires after next season. She's a basketball player; male or female, doesn't matter.

Indeed. One of those Big O/Magic/Bird types, along with overcoming a hearing impairment (no small thing when communication is so important for many good teams).

Re: Slow.....................
Tamka's work in the community has been huge. Her play is right up there with anyone who ever played for the Pacers. that's she's worked very hard on her speech over the years is evident to anyone who remembers where she started.
Fever tied up the series yesterday. I think today is media day for the Pacers. Colts saved their season though with a 21 point spurt late in the 4th quarter and so they'll continue to monopolize the sports section here for now.

Oh, absolutely agree on all statements listed here. Tamika is such an awesome asset to the city of Indianapolis and so many groups. Her advocacy on so many issues is wonderful to see. Her personal growth overcoming her impairment has also been an inspiration for many. In my mind, she SHOULD be right up there with Peyton and Reggie in terms of positive thoughts for being local sports legends of the recent generation, while also doing SO, SO much for the local community that only sometimes gets reported.

And just like that, another Indiana basketball championship is within reach.
