7 Fantasy Threads? REALLY?!

Post#1 » by DRK » Thu Oct 1, 2015 3:51 am

Theres only 1 thread we need in here.

The Premier League.

The rest can go and stop cluttering up the pages with all this damn fantasy stuff.

Im trying to actually find out new info on the Markieff Morris situation which is actually being discussed in about 5 different threads.

How else will I know if Mirza Teletovic has the common cold or some rarer form of influenza. How else will I know that PJ Tucker is eating nachos with guac instead of sour cream. How else will I know that Archie Goodwin's Lemon dance is probably the most ratchet thing Ive ever seen in my life?!

No, the Premier League is a fallacy. The D league is where it is at. We don't have fans of other teams participating and only have die hard Suns fans, and we are taking our time to observe injuries...we are smart....we are not so eager to finish but are well researched and know that we are the dauntless league who knows what's up. You guys may be faster paced, but that may end up biting you in the ass because we know that patience pays off in the long run. :rocking:

Maybe its just me but don't you guys think you all did your drafts WAAYYY too early? Usually me and my buddies do one and then people from my work do one as well but all that is usually done towards the end of pre season to account for injuries and such.

Doing it before even training camp is pretty risky don't ya think

Maybe, but with this being an offline draft, we need to allow a long period of time for the draft to actually take place. Its a little different than getting 12 guys in a room and banging out a draft in 2 hours. We have to contend with timezones etc.

I lol'd when I saw this thread. The more fantasy threads the better...

And yeah we need to give everyone enough time to draft and in Premier there are people in Australia, London, Argentina, ect. so time zones can be tricky. We really werent supposed to start until Oct. 1st... but a lot of us are really into it so we started a bit sooner. Premier League is where it's at. We are already in the 7th round, holller!

Time to go start some soccer fantasy threads on here too now... MOAR !

The D-League managers are clearly the smarter bunch of GMs. As I mentioned earlier, just gotta look at last years draft to get that figured out :

Looking at last years drafts, the D-League managers actually did a smarter job than the Premier League managers :

Comparison of last years drafts (PREMIER LEAGUE / D-LEAGUE). Top 20 picks

1. Kevin Durant / Kevin Durant
2. LeBron James / Anthony Davis
3. Anthony Davis / LeBron James
4. Steph Curry / Steph Curry
5. Chris Paul / James Harden
6. James Harden / Chris Paul
7. Carmelo Anthony / Russell Westbrook
8. DeMarcus Cousins / Carmelo Anthony
9. John Wall / DeMarcus Cousins
10. Russell Westbrook / John Wall
11. Kevin Love / Kevin Love
12. Serge Ibaka / LaMarcus Aldridge
13. Damian Lillard / Kyrie Irving
14. LaMarcus Aldridge / Serge Ibaka
15. Al Jefferson / Blake Griffin
16. Blake Griffin / Damian Lillard
17. Kyrie Irving / Al Jefferson
18. Dirk Nowitzski / Al Horford
19. Joakim Noah / Joakim Noah
20. Chris Bosh / Goran Dragic

D-Leaguers made the better choices regarding Davis, Harden, Westbrook, Kyrie, Dirk, Melo, Al Jefferson, and others. Neither of those leagues had any full ret@rd picks in the whole drafts given what was known at the time. Only the China league had some WTF picks, with Z-Bo going 26th for example !!

Yes, it's too early, but people get eager and it gives people something to do basketball related right now. People inevitably get screwed by injuries. Typically I would do them like the day or two before the season started.
