Just so Bears fans are clear, I understand these guys most likely won't be moved or aren't even on the block. I just wanted to get a gauge on what others around the league would give for them. We were discussing Jeffery in the Oakland thread and I wondered...
Keep in mind that Matt Forte is Incredibly durable (has only missed 5 games in 7 years) and versatile but also will be 30 this Dec. With that wear and tear and with Unretricted Free Agency coming up for him you have to weight the pros and cons.
Alshon Jeffery is on his way to being a top ten WR, is 25yo and is also headed to URFA after this year. He has missed 2 straight games with a hamstring injury as well.
What would you endorse your team's GM offer in a trade for either or both of these guys?

Re: Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery - What would you give?
Forte might bring back a 5th. Short-term rental. He's still very good though, and from what I'm hearing he is more likely to be moved than not.
Jeffery is supposedly one of two players (Long the other) who are identified as parts of the future on offense. Really can't see Pace giving him up. He straddles the line between #1 and #2 receiver, kind of like Golden Tate or Jeremy Maclin albeit quite different stylistically. Knowing I can lock him up for another year cheaply, or give him an extension now while his value is down b/c of injuries, is very appealing. I would expect a 3rd and 4th in staggered years in return, but like I said everyone I've talked iwth and listened to doesn't think Jeffery is going anywhere.

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Forte probably doesn't bring back much, but I would have to think Jeffery brings back at least a 2nd, maybe more. But like Icness said, he's probably not going anywhere.

he is worth more than 3rd rounder but if he is going to become a free agent then i dont see why anybody would part with a high pick when they can sign him for free in the offseason.

I think he is a guy teams might consider putting the franchise tag on.

Re: Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery - What would you give?
Forte wouldn't get much. He's a soon to be 30 year old RB. If the Bears got a 3rd for him I'd take it and run but realisticlaly probably something like a 5th.
I think Jeffrey could net a 1st rounder. I mean most teams don't give up premier draft picks anymore but someone might be willing to give up a 1st. I mean the Ravens are desperate for a WR. But I wouldn't give up Jeffrey. You need something to build around and he's a dominant young WR.

Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

I said in the opening to the topic I know they aren't getting moved. Once again just looking at what you would endorse your favorite teams GM to offer if they were on the block.

So what would you be cool with the Redskins offering for either of them?

That was brought up in our thread by FNQ. So you're formulating an offer knowing your getting him for 12 games or less (currently hurt) this year and will slap the tag on him for next year (worth 14mil and change), what do you offer the Bears?

As a Cowboy fan I'd give up a 3ird round pick for Forte. Just don't want his contract after the year though.

Problem here is, the Bears wouldn't get fair value for the talent they'd be giving up. These are two talented players with low value right now simply because they play for the Bears.

Re: Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery - What would you give?
As a Seahawks fan:
Alshon Jeffery: Jimmy Graham straight up (assuming we could afford to resign him somehow).
Matt Forte: Fred Jackson and a 7th round pick.
Second one would obviously never happen but I would rather have Forte than Lynch going into next year.
