Dardai has a problem very few Hertha coaches ever had: too many options. He can't play Stocker, Stark, Cigerci, Schelle, Darida and Baumjohann at the same time, even though they all deserve it right now.

Stocker had a strong start to the season, I'm sure he'll get more playing time if he puts in work. That's what Dardai is all about.

Another Ibisevic brace. Perfect time for him to be finding his form with Bosnia playing next week.

An Ajax fan!? First one on the board? Was always suprised we have no Ajax or PSV fans.

Hadn't realized Cigerci and Baumjohann were doing particularly well. Not that I dislike them...Cigerci actually showed some promise during that first season in which I followed BMG closely; the one following that magical final season with Reus/Dante that I only caught parts of; and so will always receive fond feelings from me...just that the talent level for them isn't the same as with Darida, Stoker and Stark. So with Skeljljjljeeljel...Schelle...already doing such a nice job as that more running/linking character alongside them I figured you could lean more on your talent in midfield; especially with your forwards needing all of the help your midfield can give them. But if Stoker's just getting out worked for the minutes that's a fair enough reason to sit him, especially if Cigerci and Baumjohann are doing well in his stead.

Though I would personally really like to see what a Stark/Darida/Schelle/Stoker diamond could do, and not just out of tactical-curiosity...if only you had the CBs to make it work behind them and forwards worth a damn... With a little more cash and somebody who could really attract outside talent you'd be down right a blast to watch and awfully tricksy for the big boys to solve.

( Kruse/ECMC ) -- ( Mehmedi )
------- Stoker ------------
----- Darida ---- Schelle ---
--------- Stark -----------
Platt. - Lust. - (Tah) - Pek/Weiser

I like your Japanese winger and Stoker is quite capable of playing out wide, but I question the defensive security if those two are playing in front of Plattenhart and Weiser on the flanks; so I would just overwhelm the center and allow the positionally free forwards to try and pin the FBs back, while Stoker cheats to the left and Schelle to the right; utilizing an almost lopsided-4-4-2 shape when needing added security in the wider areas...since Kalou and Ibecivic won't pin the FBs as effectively as if you had actually capable players in those spots.

Plus if Mittelstadt proves to be the answer to Germany's LB search like some are suggesting he could become, this shape would really let him take off once he was ready for regular first team minutes.

Cigerci is a pretty good player when healthy. Above average I'd say. Unfortunately, he rarely is healthy.

Though, he's not good enough on the ball to really get by his defender and certainly isn't a lone striker, as long as you aren't fully on counter attack.

He never should've left Mainz 05 at age 20. Two years later like Geis did is a much better time to leave.

Everything that came after Mainz wasn't good for his development.
At Leverkusen he didn't have enough freedom to develop further skills than the strong move into the middle.
At Chelsea he didn't play at all and confidence went lost.
And at Wolfsburg he just sucks.

He's turning 25 next month. So he has plenty of time to turn it around.

Didn't Schurrle do well at Chelsea before falling out of favor for a flashier new signing? I think time helped his defensive work-rate and his off the ball runs; which was beneficial when he played off of Mueller at the WC, as a pseudo-second striker off the wing.

EDIT:
FC VW could be so much more interesting if they just watched a tape of Kruse's time in Gladbach and realized they should use him up top. It would be the best way to use Schurrle in a role he can thrive in; interchanging with Kruse as he cuts in and Max drifts wide while Rodriguez charges up from defense into that space. With Draxler, Arnold, Guilavogui and Gustavo to make up their midfield trio; Draxler, Caliguri or Vierinha as the other guy up top; and Vierinha/Jung/Traesch charging forward from that RB spot; they would be such a fluid and dangerous side with the ball...and with those CBs + Benaglio, they would be sure to leak enough goals for that team to have to play aggressive and fun football.

First season he played a lot, yes. Second season he went bench mode.

Zorniger will be gone in Stuttgart very soon.
Only a couple days ago he was arguing with a media reporter he has no CBs available who is good at 1 vs. 1 duels and continued with "And now don't come up with Georg Niedermeier."

Today he produced another hidden gem by saying Timo Werner was busy handing out kisses for scoring the 2:2 so he couldn't convert on a quality chance to make it 3:2.

Don't think the players will like playing for a coach looking for media attention by publicly dragging them through the mud.

Especially with Ginczek being out for months yet again. Poor guy, such a shame.

Modeste is so nice. It warms my heart whenever Schalke loses.

That would be double enjoyment. But isn't next week the international break?

I mean, hopefully Ibisevic keeps up his goal scoring form through the international break as well. God knows Bosnia needs it.

Aubameyang scored at the perfect time. If Dortmund goes into the half 2-0 down they wouldn't have recovered.

Second best team just lost 5-1 to bayern. If bayern wanted they could score 2-3 more. Competition wise Scottish League = Bundesliga
