I came across this interesting video clip on ESPN from the Mike and Mike show suggesting that the Blue Jays will win the World Series based on run differential. Take it for what it is worth, but I thought it was interesting and worth sharing as we wait for Thursday. I didn't see it posted but I apologize if it is a repost.

To summarize the video, the last six AL teams who have had a regular season run differential that was 130 runs or more greater than any other team have won the World Series. The only time this wasn't true in the past 100 years was the 1914 Athletics. The Jays are the only team meeting that criteria this season, with a run differential that is 136 runs greater than anyone else. The Jays also have the second highest run differential in the past 60 years in either league.

Pop open the champagne, put up the banners and turn up the music. Your Toronto Blue Jays...2015 World Series champions. You can't argue with statistics.

The Jays have the best run differential in baseball since the 2001 Mariners and 2001 Athletics. What happened to those two teams?

Both the 2001 Mariners AND Athletics won the World Series, of course.
I'm kidding, of course. But I think what was stated was that the difference between the AL team with the highest run differential and the AL team with the 2nd highest run differential had to be 130 or more. Was the difference between the run differentials of the 2001 Mariners and 2001 A's over 130?

No, but the Mariners were 206 runs better than the third place Yankees. The A's were 145 runs better.
Also, the point in the OP is no longer true since the Jays run differential dropped to 221 following the TB blowout loss and Houston's skyrocketed after they scored 21 runs against Arizona.
