Re: Kawakami Column
I rcouldn't read through more than 2/3 of that. So much of what Kawakami posts is garbage. Yes, the 49ers royally screwed up with Tomsula. Kawakami talks like this offense was great before this year under Harbaugh and Roman. Kaepernick and the offense have been trending downward the past couple of years along with the crappy offensive line play. This team could have been 10-6 last year were it not for the offense last year that disappeared in the 2nd half of games. For those that hate Kap, Kap was Harbaugh's guy. Harbaugh wanted to draft Kap over Dalton.

I've read other columns by him where he has said a couple of things -- the offense wasn't great last year either under Harbaugh, and also he understands that Harbaugh has a shelf life and it was entirely legitimate for ownership to say they had reached that point, but the circumstances of the firing and whisper campaign was bs, and the push to get Tomsula was the greatest sin -- if they were going to fire Harbaugh over offense why not get another offensive guy in like Gase to turn it around?

I would take a jug machine over a carrot, too (unless the carrot came with AJ Green).

Re: Kawakami Column
York reminds me of the old saying that "It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."
The things that he's said like "win with class", "hold me accountable", and saying the 9ers could be like the Warriors were with Kerr just added on to making York look more foolish than he already did before he opened his mouth.

Re: Kawakami Column
This board is full of homers that will defend York until the end. The record speaks for itself and the product on the field at least on the offensive end is getting worse. I wonder who will get the ax first Balke or Tomsula.

That press conference was a major disaster.

Kawakami who ripped Harbaugh in many ways as coach is praising him now that he is gone. Kawakami gets people to read his articles by getting people all riled up.

Kawakami did rip Harbaugh and ripped the way he was fired and the terrible succession plan. Those are not inconsistent positions.

I am not going to call anyone out on this as it doesn't do anyone a favor. I hardly come to this board anymore because of the people who constantly troll their beliefs on others, belittle their perspective and can't respect a difference of opinion.

This has to be some kind of joke. I haven't seen a single defense of Jed York on this board since the vast majority of us migrated over from Poopla.
Maybe there's history before the migration but in recent times this comment has no basis in fact.

And to clarify the timeline.....the great migration of Poopla refugees occurred in August of 2014.

As for Kawakami he's one of my least favorite journalists........and that has been on the record for some time. Barely readable most of the time.

Re: Kawakami Column
I actually enjoy Kawakami probably the most out of all our reporters. He has zero qualms about calling it like it is. Him and Harbaugh respected each other. Just listen to his podcast interview with Harbs after he was hired by Michigan.
Tim is probably also the most greatly misunderstood reporter in the Bay Area. This is due greatly to poor reading comprehension and overly excitable fans who worship their team so much that they ignore reality. Tim loves to stoke those flames too. I can't blame him for that.

I came over after the migration like most others. Almost everyone on this board I know has been critical of York. Some of the posters are more vocal about it than others but I have yet to see any blanket defense of York. There was much criticism of York when Harbaugh departed and Tomsula was hired. It has mostly quieted down until recently. I prefer that to the sites where that is all people want to talk about.

He is a commentator more than anything and he often will reoprt unsubstantiated rumors. I prefer reading stories from the Beat reporters like Miacco, Inman, or Barrows. They actually provide something useful.

Completely agree, he's a columnist, he's supposed to offer commentary and unlike Dilfer, Robinson, other national people spouting off Jed's nonsense about Harbaugh losing the team, etc., he calls Jed out on this mess, and he gets pummeled by Jed supporters on twitter, it's hilarious. I like reading his stuff.

Re: Kawakami Column
So, let me say I don't read much of his recent work (so my facts may be wrong) but the period of time where I did read him he came across as always negative, never a good thing to say. Maybe it's just me but I like some balance. It's never all doom and gloom and there's always ways to find some good out there, even in the darkest of times. I just didn't care for his tone, I guess is the best way to say it.
Maybe I should have a temporary cease fire for a few weeks and see what he's writing these days. He just rubbed me the wrong way a while back and II moved on.

That is not who Kawakami caters to. He likes to throw red meat to the wolves. That is what brings people to read his stuff.
