come on, its only pre-season.

come on, it's still a game that everyone couldn't care less. it's not a show. it's not like Bosh would laugh after his missed dunk.

Kemba and Lin both have the ability to break down the D and make the D bring a help defender. If Kemba can improve his passing vision to make the correct read and correct pass, that is what is going to elevate him to the next level PG, not his 3pt shooting. It took John Wall a few seasons to develop that skill and that's what has taken him to the next level of pg's. JW still can't shoot for $hit. I think Batum and Lin will help raise Kembas game in that aspect. The Hornets need 1 more consistent shooter to complement Lin, Kemba, and Al's ability to draw the extra defender. Frank and Lamb could fill that role if they can be consistent.

The Hornets can be a playoff team this season if Clifford can find the right rotation that works. This will be key. I honestly don't think MKG's injury, even if he were to miss extended time, will not impact the team as much as people are thinking. Batum can D up just fine. Not hating on MKG, I respect his game and the Hornets are better with him. But it's not like the wheels are all of a sudden going to come off and the season is in question.

Lol well unless Lebron James becomes a Hornet tomorrow morning we won't have to worry about that.

eww, pretty sure the 1st linsanity happened w/o lebron, there is a reason why billions of ppl watching linsanity and the same billions of ppl rather stare at the wall than watching bron play.

What I'm liking so far is that Lin seems pretty comfortable playing in Charlotte, in previous years he's always been plagued by high pressure environments and expectations. This will only help improve his consistency throughout the year. He's still going to make some dumb mistakes and TOs but it won't be due to nerves or trying to prove something. Here, he can be more himself and play his game.

In just 2 undefeated preseason games, Lin has looked like a different player than when he played in Houston and LA.

But really, these Hornets are actually playing more like a team. In Houston, Dwight never set screens for Lin... Kobe never set screens for Lin.

I hope Lin likes playing shooting guard. He's about to get a ton of minutes at SG now that MKG is out for 6 months (Batum slides to SF). Lin and Lamb will basically split the SG minutes (with a little mix of Roberts, Daniels and PJ thrown in at times).

Lin's hair is killing me. I'd be ok with spiked up, but the look he had in the Miami game (maybe ORL too, didn't watch that one) is just awful.

For real. This "transition period" for his hair is horrendous.

Just can't help to laugh at Hansbrough's ugly attempt at the basket.

For those Lin vs Kemba debators... in the 3.5 minutes Lin and Kemba played together against the Heat, the team was a +9. Jeremy Lamb was playing the SF and the Heat had Wade and Gorin Dragic on the court as well.

We are going to see a ton of Kemba - Lin lineups. We'll have a boatload of stats to evaluate that combo by the end of November. Get ready for some Roberts - Lin lineups as well (see Lineup thread for my thoughts on that combination).

Good news, Lin will get a ton of minutes this year
Bad new? He'll get a large % of them at SG.

I love Lin as a backup PG. I am lukewarm on Lin as a backup SG.

the 3 min Lin/Kemba played together, I think the defense was pretty good there, and offense look good too.

Agreed. Let me make it straight:

Roberts + Lin = disaster on both ends, just watch out, Lin could be useless and turnover-prone and Roberts would be wildly inconsistent as the only effective ball handler most of the time.
Kemba + Lin (+ Batum/Lamb/Marvin) = not really a bad bit, sometimes it would be a lil surprise(might be really good depends on the match-ups)
Lin + Lamb = good to great fit
Lin + Batum = I guess it'd be a great fit

At the end of the day, imo Lin is a much better basketball player when you put the ball on his hands and get him space most of the time no matter how they made him out to be a combo guard.

(crosspost from GB)

I don't watch the show, so I have no idea if it's any good. But Entertainment Weekly posted this an hour ago.

Entertainment Weekly wrote:Image

Tonight’s episode of Fresh Off the Boat (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) features a guest appearance by Shaquille O’Neal, and next week’s installment also puts the ball in a NBA player’s comedy court.

Jeremy Lin of the Charlotte Hornets — and the former New York Knick at the center of Linsanity — will guest-star in the Oct. 13 episode of the family comedy, EW has learned. Whereas Shaq appears as himself as the owner of a car dealership, Lin plays “Chau,” a factory worker who “frustrates Louis (Randall Park) with his opinions on the Pretty in Pink.”

Chicago Bulls Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen made a cameo in a FOTB episode last season.

The Hornets are underway to China. I bet when they have arrived there will be hundreds of fans waiting for Lin at the airport. Lin is really popular there and it'll be like a home game cus they'll all be rooting for him.

Folks, if you do not have any interest in what I am about to post, please take no offense, and pass by in peace.

I am a Christian. I found the following article posted about Jeremy Lin, and a powerful speech he gave in China. Feel free to read if you wish. I am very happy to read of his witness.

http://www.gospelherald.com/articles/57485/20150828/jeremy-lin-shares-christian-faith-in-beijing-says-true-success-is-found-in-understanding-gods-love-in-speech-broadcasted-to-100-million-chinese.htm
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
