Re: Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer
I want Gerald Green to get a 3 year contract atleast. The guy is one of the lowest paid players per production in the league and has been playing with little security for the last couple of years.
But just glad he is off the Suns, since Suns need better role models IQ wise on the court.... But on a veteran team he is perfect scorer off the bench.

Green is a good guy, but wasn't a good player for us last year. I think it was good pickups for Miami though to give Goran two familiar finishers.

Is it me or Green is just defending well?
And this Miami squad... Man there are so much former Sun.
Allowing that team to come together in MIA could be a mistake that haunts the Suns despite the good return we got for Dragic. I think we should have figured out hot to keep him here running the show. I hope Weems is really good defensively because losing Green is hurting me a little. I liked his passion. Amare is the great icing on the cake. He still has what this current team needs.
Watching highlights will do that. If you noticed, the Hornets led in every highlight (that I noticed).
I'll miss Green but we have to develop our players, not entertain our fans with aging guys while being mediocre.
The Dragic trade probably saved this franchise from another 5 years of treadmill. If we kept him then it would have only made sense to trade Bledsoe since, despite what some think, we were better when it was only Dragic. He only became 3rd team NBA because Bledsoe went down.
Miami is also an older team so it's not like we allowed a dynasty to form. Even if they did become one, we won't be the team they continue to beat to win championships.
They will def be fun to watch though. After the Suns, I'll probably watch them just to see those 3 go.

He was a clutch player for us in the 13/14 season, and responsible for a lot of wins down the stretch. He was a team guy and played hard for us. I wish him nothing but the best.
I wish his team utter destruction, though. We have their picks.

As good as Dragic and Bledsoe were on the court in 13/14, it became clear they could not co-exist as teammates. Too much unhappiness on Goran's part. I am not sure the dynamics of that. IT wanted a starting job, Goran wanted to handle the ball, Bled wanted a contract and didn't talk much, Plumlee was unhappy that Len was starting, the Morrii were doing their thug thing. Yikes.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer
Yeah... Gerald Green looks really good when u dont need to watch him for 82 games.
Heat fans will understand this very quickly... as soon as he's fouling 3's nonstop or shooting with 21s in the clock or even when he's dribbling just to create an easy turnover for them.
I wish him all the best, but i'm SOOOO GLAD he's gone.

It's not the highlights I will miss, its Dragic's killer-instinct he displayed. It's Green's in the zone moments. It's Amare's jump shot more than his dunks. Dragic/ Bledsoe/ Tucker/ Amare/ Chandler would have scared some people. I like Knight, and Mirza will be fun, but together are they worth what Dragic brings? I hope they are, but I am not convinced yet.
I mentioned this in the "If I were GM" thread, but in hindsight (with the knowledge of his discontent), I think I would have passed on the Knight trade, given Dragic the ball and let Bledsoe adjust (since he was locked in already), made the IT trade, made the Morris trade (with a little heads-up before it was public), made the Leuer trade, kept Green, or grabbed Weems for the min or gone without.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer
Amare and Green will always have nice highlights. Especially in the preseason when teams are not defending or playing with max effort.
Doing the little things it takes for team ball to be successful are the things they will always lack, and we finally have more players that like to do those little things and work hard.

Haven't visited the forum recently, how was the reaction to Markieff's return? Also, has Warren been getting enough hype? If not, I may have to start up the hype train with the season less than a month away.

I went to the intra squad game and when Keef was introduced there was a majority of applause, but a strong minority of boo's. You could definitely hear the disgruntled fans. Keef didn't play, but if he had I imagine he would have heard the disapproval from the crowd.
Warren gets some buzz, but I wouldn't say the Suns are hyping him at all. I think once he begins to have break out games, Suns will turn on the hype machine quickly. I even read that Paul Coro on Twitter said Suns are considering starting Warren over PJ Tucker. I would expect PJ to be the starter at the beginning of the season, but Warren will take over by ASG.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer
Green could end up playing well for Miami. He's got all the talent in the world, but he needs strong coaches and vets to keep him in line given his extremely low BB IQ.
It wouldn't surprise me to see him be a great offensive spark off the bench for the Heat this year and even be considered for 6th man of the year.
That said, it didn't make sense to have him on this Suns team taking minutes away from Archie/Booker/TJ and shots away from anyone else on the floor with him at the time.
Green is perfect for a playoff contender. He's a growth stunter on a young team like us.
Miami is going to be super fun to watch. If they avoid injuries they have possibly the best starting 5 in the east:
Dragic
Wade
Deng
Bosh
Whiteside
Stat and Green may be defensive holes, but they can score in bunches. Chalmers, McRoberts, Haslem, and Birdman round out a solid bench. If Winslow has any impact...wow...what a loaded team. Definitely could give the Cavs a run for their money, even if Wade spends half the year hurt.

LOL.
We have Bogdan Bogdanovic who outscored the Nets Bojan Bogdanovic 11-1.

Alex spent 3 days in August in San Antonio working with Timmy. I know the more experienced Suns fans won't agree, but the Spurs are awesome.

Dang, watching that video it made me think "What happen to this crazy rockin fanbase?" How did we go from madhouse on McDowell to silent arena?
I also like how Paul Coro refers to some Suns fans referring to the Spurs as the dark side. He must see my Star Wars posts.

Even with the evolution of the big man role in today's NBA, this kid gets it
“I’m a 7-footer. I’m not trying to focus on 3-pointers. My bread is down there,” Len said, pointing to the practice-court lane.
