Re: Kawakami Column
He predicted the 49ers were going to win the Super Bowl last year, he's not always negative, but he may feel like others can carry Jed's water in the press.

Re: Kawakami Column
Like I said, I completely cut off my reading of his work. I'll give him another chance. I know he'll be so appreciative.

Where would you rank him and the Cohn father and son? (As in 1, 2, 3..., not in general to others like Maiocco and Barrows.)

Maybe it's just me but I like some balance. It's never all doom and gloom and there's always ways to find some good out there, even in the darkest of times. I just didn't care for his tone, I guess is the best way to say it.
Maybe I should have a temporary cease fire for a few weeks and see what he's writing these days. He just rubbed me the wrong way a while back and II moved on.
I had the same impression with him in the past. Then I realized it was because all the teams sucked. He actually acknowledges success when there is some. He has written many great things about Harbaugh and obviously the Warriors. The last few years he has been exceptional. This was well deserved IMO: http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_22351358/tim-kawakami-is-california-sportswriter-year

Tim is probably also the most greatly misunderstood reporter in the Bay Area. This is due greatly to poor reading comprehension and overly excitable fans who worship their team so much that they ignore reality. Tim loves to stoke those flames too. I can't blame him for that.
He goes out on the edge unlike many of the reporters in the area and he was one of the best in trying to get in depth information & perspective. We could have it a lot worse like having Skip Bayless or SAS in Bay Area. Kawakami has gotten it right more times than not.
However the jackals here are never happy. Bottom line is the Niners are bad team and where do you begin to build it back together.

I would never, ever click on a link to a Kawakami Column.
At least not on purpose.

Sorry, I know you didn't ask me this directly. Father Cohn comes often comes accross as an ass, but he does write some good pieces. I found their training camp updates good. And does any knowledgable 49er fan need Kawakami to tell them York screwed up? Like we don't already know.

Re: Kawakami Column
Nice to see the press point the finger at he who is to blame: sonny-boy Jed. What a disaster this is becoming.
"5. One more time: They put Jim Tomsula in charge of the team.
Nice guy. Popular guy. Really nice to the Yorks.
Is he the guy the team–or Colin Kaepernick–knows can lead them out of trouble? You know the answer to that one, the 49ers players know it, and I would’ve thought Jed York could know that, but he didn’t.
I would ask him about that. Except he’s hiding under his desk, and might be hiding for a long time."

Re: Kawakami Column
Who is Steve Logan, a former radio host?
Fine they can get out of Kaps contract. Then what? You reset with another QB but do you expect this staff to do better?
They will have reset after 4 years. Meanwhile it wouldn't be surprising if he goes to another team and with defined read, he's winning for another team.

Yea, Logan had a stint as a radio host. Not like he doesnt have extensive coaching experience. Not sure there are many coaches who could walk in and fix this mess
