With all the minutes he got here in his last season, plus boards etc, he was a fantasy monster for me which I got in like one of the last rounds.

Yeah I agree. I am not expecting much. I was maybe hoping for a less lengthy deal or one that pays less over the same period from an equally disappointing player who may fit us better than his former team. I doubt anyone is going to give up a draft pick for him or a young player on a cheap deal. But I think we might be stuck with him. Not sure if a buyout is a possibility but I guess that would be ok if it gives us some cap relief in the coming years. Not that we need it but still it wouldn't hurt to have more.

Wait and watch.

A star player is bound to ask for a trade after his team underpreforms, etc etc... Package a core piece/s and Frye

As is, he's only a cosmetic blemish to the roster. His contract isn't hurting us yet, so no rush IMO.
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

Why are the same people who are upset with Frye, fine with us not drafting, signing or trading for a PF?

It's ironic because I'm fine with Frye, but I'm upset that we didn't get another PF, but I don't want to get rid of him. I like Frye off the bench. I think he brings an important skill. There is a time and place for him and his contract doesn't hurt us. Of course, if he's starting, then I'm not a happy camper, but the hatred for him seems to have no ends.

I am not sure we would get a star player unless we deal a couple of our young guys and I think I would rather wait and see these guys the whole season. Not sure how big of a star you mean but I don't think we will be getting that. There hasn't been much available in terms of star talent available at the past several deadlines. And Frye doesn't really add much unless that team likes him but I think at most we get fair value like an equally bad player who isn't living up to his contract or we have to give up something in order for that team to want him.

I am all for the play him and see. His value can't get lower IMHO. He was so wretched on defense last year and in the fast break I actually cringed. To see that his 3pt% was actually high really surprised me. But our coach sucked. Play him in the second unit, see how he works out. Then, reassess.

With "Nearly nothing" and "Cap space" taking this, it is clear that Magic fans simply want Frye to move on. This is interesting as without Frye, Magic fans need to place great faith in Nicholson. I am not sure I am at that place.

If Nich can improve(or already did I dunno if he worked on it in the offseason) that 3pt shot
theres no question Id rather give him the minutes ....guy has post moves and if he had the range also he already would be better than Frye.
They both cant defend sht so its a wash in that dept.

On the bright side, we know who our Duhon/Willie is for this year. Now let's hope his atrocious defense leaves him bench bound.

This brings back memories of Duhon's greatest Magic performance:
