I don't follow Soccer at all, especially MLS, but damn, this league is on the grow. Look at some names, I mean Pirlo is now in MLS? That New York City.

I mean, the league is improving a bit, but Pirlo is completely finished, and arguably was on Juve last year despite having some moments.

Stars from Europe come to the MLS to end their careers and bang our women.

I hope the league continues to grow to the point where most of the matches are entertaining. But we're pretty far away from that currently.

always great to see guys called up to their national teams, however TFC will now be missing their 2 top scorers for the Red Bulls game next week.
It's way too crucial a game for them to be so short handed. MLS is a joke when it comes to international call ups and still making teams play games

Pirlo wasn't finished last year and still isn't finished. He's playing home games on a field that U12 should be playing on which definitely doesn't compliment his style of play. Juve also doesn't make the champions league finals with an inside midfielder who basically runs their offense that is "finished".

That being said I completely agree with you about stars coming to end their careers and bang american women lol. But not all these guys coming to end their careers are washed up.

Pirlo is finished, man, his time as an elite/great player is over. Yes, he was still able to be productive in Juve's system, but you could tell he was done watching the games. This isn't really a discussion: he's done.

And most of the guys coming here to end their careers are washed up, its just the level of competition in the MLS is so low, they can look like their old selves at times. I mean just try to name a star player from Europe who came to the MLS not on the downswing/end of the career. It can't be done.

I say all of this as a huge fan of Pirlo. My third favorite football player ever, and one of the main reasons I got into watching the sport (along with Brazilian Ronaldo and my friend's family watching Gala all the time). I **** love the man. Read his autobiography twice. But he's finished as a decent player.

Btw, anyone interested in Pirlo/how the mind of a football genius was formed and functions, I definitely recommend picking up his book: "I Think Therefore I Play". Super easy read, but very entertaining and informative.

Yup, it's going to hurt our chances for sure.

MLS really needs to take international dates off. Especially as the league grows with more International stars.

I'm a TFC fan since Giovinco signed for the team and I said he'd become the best player in league history. But I grew up a MetroStars/RBNY fan. So I am fond of them also, and NYCFC since I've been to a few games and Pirlo.

Uconn because I'm from CT. Orlando because Penny/Shaq. Colts because of Peyton Manning and also the 95-96 AFC championship game where I was passionately rooting for the underdog Colts to beat the Steelers--it is my first NFL memory.

Devils because I went to their games a lot when I was younger and Juve because they are God's gift to the planet.

Giovinco lead Italy to victory off the bench today. Last game he only got ten minutes but still drew a red card and hit crossbar on the ensuing free kick

He looked good in both games in my opinion.

That free kick was so close to going in.

In a way it's unfortunate Gio's beautiful goal was overshadowed by THE HIT last night. It was a real beaut, one of the best in TFC history,

Massive win and an incredible goal from Giovinco! Is there anything this guy can't do?

TFC make the play-offs and hardly anyone notices due to the Jays awesome win! Go Jays Go!

Really hope they can get another win on Saturday v the Crew, would go a long way to either a 2nd place finish or at the very least home field advantage in a one off game.
Got my tickets for Saturday, can't wait

Imagine if this second thread wasn't created. Would've been really cool to follow the team from almost the beginning to finally making the playoffs 9 years in, all in one place. What a ride.
