It has been very nice to see people around Houston remembering that we have a baseball team.

The past several years have been rough as a fan. In addition to the losing we also had to deal with the horrible Comcast Sports Network debacle that kept the team off of TV in most of the Houston market for several years. For a lot of people they are just now learning about Jose Altuve and how good the guy is.

Well, for all of those Rip Van Winkle fans it must be a nice thing to wake up to and see this team!

Pretty amazing how quickly the Astros have gone from being the absolute bottom of the barrel to contending. Gotta give props to their FO, they had a plan and stuck with it and are now reaping the rewards.

The key part was sticking with Luhnow's plan. The bad years all seem worth it now.

I guess this means that I can no longer take my "tanking is never the answer" stance!

I predict a similar change in the Sixers in three years.

Lackey named the Game 1 starter for the Cardinals.

My bet is he's facing Lester on that day.
But you never know. One game is a complete crap shoot.

The Pirates stack righties against Arrieta…even putting Sean Rodriguez at first over Pedro Alvarez.

I can think of one team that was stupid enough to think stacking lefties against Arrieta would work even though the numbers suggest he's feasted on lefties this year.

Arrieta has feasted on everyone in the last three months of the season, so it doesn't really make a massive difference who Hurdle puts in the lineup tonight. Gerrit Cole isn't a slouch, either, so I'm expecting a duel.

I honestly don't care who wins this game because I like both squads (Theo can still go kick rocks, though). I think whoever takes it will make a run to the World Series, too.

I'll say Cubs take it 3-2. People think they're still one step away, but I think the kids are ready to take over now.

Point taken.

Schwarber in RF.
Bryant in LF.

Maddon said he's going offense 1st then working the defense in if he gets a lead.
He has a lot of faith in Jake.

Officially on the Cubbies bandwagon until the end of the postseason.

Arrieta is on another planet right now.

I've never been happier after a baseball game in my life. I love this team. I'm never going to forget that Schwarber dong. Arrieta is a god.

Now the Cubs and Cardinals play for the first time ever in the playoffs.

It's gotten to the point where I'm actually disappointed that he only pitched a shutout, instead of a no-hitter or a perfect game.

I'm pretty excited to see playoff baseball back in Toronto.

Jays lose Donaldson and Bautista in game 1. This series is over. I half expected Price to choke, but can't mount much of a comeback with your two best hitters out.
