Preseason Game1: Suns host Sacramento

Post#1 » by Cutter » Thu Oct 8, 2015 12:19 am

No pictures, just the quote below I copied from BsoTS.

The only TV coverage will be streaming live on suns.com, and that streaming only extends to 75 miles away from the arena. Otherwise, you can listen to the dulcet tones of Al McCoy on 98.7 FM Arizona Sports, and follow along on twitter and nba.com box scores.

Suns
Bledsoe
Knight
Tucker
Kieff
Chandler

Kings
Rondo
McLemore
Gay
Cousins
Koufos

Go Suns!

I thought it showed the game will be shown on NBA TV?

I have never heard of a game being streamed only to those 75 miles away as being the only way to watch it that too a pre season game vs another NBA team, not like a team scrimmage or something.

You've gotta be kidding me that streaming only works 75 miles from arena. That blows.

As stated above, streaming of the game from Suns.com will be limited to 75 miles from the arena.

How in the heck can they limit the streaming of video from a website to a certain mile limit? I thought anyone who could log onto the website could stream the game, even from around the world.

Well, sitting in NY as I am, I guess I'll have to find something else to watch tonight. That blows.

There'll be streams of varying legality. PM me if you can't find a good one.

Top 5 things I will be looking closely at during the game.

1. Overall team chemistry and hustle. After the disaster that was last year, chemistry will be very important.

2. How well Bledsoe and Knight mesh together. I hope to see elevated assist numbers, and good 3 point percentage from Knight.

3. Of course, how well Kieff plays and whether he seems engaged with the team.

4. I want to see our center duo of Chandler-Len dominate on defense, and add value on offense. Holding Cousins in check will be a great early test.

5. I really want to see Warren and Booker get some good minutes. Also, how will Hornacek work Weems into the rotation?

Reason for the 75 mile limit
I have just been told by Jeramy McPeak is that it’s an NBA rule. So bummer for those of us not in PHX.

Quote from another Suns website, but I guess it makes sense. Why does the NBA want to limit streaming distances, and when was this change implemented? Bastards.

Lmao all other teams already had their pre season start like last week and some already had their 2nd game while Suns are last team to begin their first game and the fans can't even watch the damn game unless you live hella close to the arena.

It was like that last season too. I remember using proxy to watch a couple of games.

Maybe if you are within 75 miles you have to stream, and if you are outside the restricted area it will be on NBATv.

Yep, Paul Coro confirmed yesterday that it was a mistake.

It actually does make sense. For years and years and years, the NBA has been well behind other major sports when it comes to the quality of its pay-to-watch TV product. No reason that should change now.

This guy's saying that it will be televised on NBA TV for those who are not local?

I go to a local bar to stream the game on my IPAD and have a beer, and their wifi goes down. Just my luck!
