Kieff is very much a LaMarcus Aldridge lite. He gers better every year. I think he can pretty easily get at least 16/7 this year.

Excited to see! He is probably our most important and consistent player.

Pretty much the only good thing Blanks did when he was here. (And the Gortat trade)

I think this is a case where McD wouldn't trade Kieff for Stanley Johnson, and SVG wouldn't trade Johnson for Kieff. The problem is, only one of the two is being reasonable in that scenario...in otherwords, I wouldn't expect Kieff to be traded anytime soon. McD has some kind of irrational 'love' for Markieff's game--one that the rest of the league doesn't share.

It would have to be something like this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pf9o9k3

With us giving up our 2016 top 10 protected 1st, which again, McD is not likely to deal. In fact McD probably covets Len more than Drummond...

It is entirely possible that McD is trying to "play up" Kieff's value, and he doesn't really hold him in that high regard, but McD's actions tell a different story.

I think you are wrong here. McD would trade Kieff for Johnson in a second.

One of those times I'd be thrilled to be wrong, but my point was more that McD is 'presenting', or maybe 'selling', is better word, this crazy notion that Kieff is some key part to our success as a team, and that if we trade him, it's gonna cost that other team practically an 'all star' to get Kieff, and I honestly don't think it's fooling anyone--kinda why I threw in that:

"The problem is, only one of the two is being reasonable in that scenario..."

So you are correct, in reality, McD would have to jump all over that scenario, but with us having to add in a pick or two, and Detroit adding in a scrub to make the salaries work, that's where the hang-up lies, I believe.

I dont know where this 'Keef gets better every year' is coming from.
Last year he was worse in pretty much all stats compared to his 13/14 year.

He's a GREAT super sub... ok/below average starter.
People need to understand this very quickly.

Sorry, but that is just plain wrong.

Watching these Celtics games and man, I miss Isaiah. It was a mistake to trade him. Our bench would have been nasty with IT, Teletovic, Booker/Weems, Warren, and Len.

Why don't people understand this? THOMAS DOES NOT WANT TO COME FROM BENCH. IT MAKES HIM UNHAPPY.

Then you're mistaken. He already told reporters few times that he wants to start. He's never been happy with his role as sixth man.

For as good as IT is at offense, he's as bad defensively. Pretty much a smaller PG version of Gerald.

He is very very expendable. Keef is meat on a hook.

Maybe he was looking at per36? Or just didn't look at the stats? :o

who cares... the last thing this team needs to do is rely on Morris. I don't know how anyone here can actually believe he has a future in Phoenix. He is the 'most tradable player' on our roster. The question is, who do you package with him and for what ?

I'm with FLee, and not to beat a dead horse but the stat that he actually declined in the most over the last year is me giving a flying &$*( about his career

I definitely think we shouldn't just take any deal though.

I didn't say I liked him, nor did I see Gino say it either. But it's a flat out lie to say he declined in almost every stat, unless one was looking at a per36. That's all, nothing more, not hoping we keep him, not saying we should keep him, not bragging on him, etc.

Just plain and simple, he scored more, rebounded more per game. Overall, he has improved every year. Should we keep him? I'm with Frank, who cares?

Now, what I really like about this is it looks like Leuer saw this as a chance to step up and possibly step in.

No, I gotcha...I don't see the decline in actual stats.

Hate to be that guy but we do need Kieff to perform for us to be an above average team (playoffs?). So to say, who cares or we shouldn't rely him, it's all good rhetoric but a not insignificant chunk of our success this season will be tied to his performance. Unless Leuer solidifies his GOAT status.

That may be true, but I guess I'm holding out hope that we can trade him for some actual value and then whoever we trade him for can contribute towards us being above average!

If we can trade him for a piece that fits even better then awesome. But I certainly wouldn't discount his importance just because he's likely on his way out. Like it or not, but when he's on, he's an LMA-lite and he gives us much needed offense from a big.

Has a player ever tanked themselves. He's got $30m no matter what he does on court, he just wants us to move him to Detroit presumably.
