Brooklyn franchise change the name

Post#1 » by kamaze » Fri Oct 9, 2015 1:35 am

People still call them the New Jersey Nets lol I heard that pisses off ownership.
Just change the name and get it over with.

Brooklyn Empire?

ppl call them the NJN to slight a team that hasn't lived up to expectations. the only way this changes is when the team accomplishes something, other than a co-sign from Jay-Z- winning the ECF & making a finals appearance where the Nets don't completely get blown out to provide fodder for the eastern conference is trash argument would do just that. need to earn respect to stop the disrespect

Right now the branding is as strong as any other team. I live in Australia and Brooklyn gear is probably the most popular. NJ gear was rarer than hens teeth. The crazy thing is we don't even have a star player to push the merch. They nailed the brand. Absolutely killed it. I never would have imagined this turn around.

The Nets aren't changing the name because some senile old men don't know the difference between New Jersey and Brooklyn. The Nets are Top 3 in NBA worldwide merchandise sales. I don't think we will ever see a change in anything with the name or look unless some Donald Sterling type of nonsense happens.

even if they change the name, trolls on this site will still call them New Jersey or NJN.

Winning will change people's perception of the team, not the name.

Please

I love the Name.

I think it is one of the coolest Names in the NBA. I love the Heat too name, but at least Nets actually has something to do with basketball.

For selfish reasons, I want it to stay that way so I can continue to use Nets-Mets-Jets.

spot on. had we been able to get a star the first 3 years, or had deron lived up to it, merchandise and popularity would have exploded. the nets underachieving and lack of a true start is what hurts, not the name or branding

I work by Wall Street.

When you walk around there, I see a lot of tourists wearing Nets gear.

The black and white colors IMO were genius.

I bought a Deron Williams authentic jersey. Biggest waste of money in my life. I think I wore it 3 times total.

Also had a T-Will jersey that turned into a D-Will jersey.

Both of these were such poor decisions.

I still don't have a Brooklyn jersey. Got jumpers, mugs, socks, tshirts. I was borderline on the DWill purchase for a while. Then I was thinking Lopez, then he went down with the foot injury. Then JJ came on strong after I'd initially dismissed him as a joke for his albatross contract. I knew he could play, but I couldn't get over the albatross. I got close to pulling the JJ trigger after the '14 playoffs, but now he's trailed off a bit. If Brook puts in an all-star year I'll commit. Otherwise I might be waiting a while.

LOL!!!!

I should have mentioned I had gotten a personalized one.

I learned my lesson already about getting gear with Player names. I had brought a Lopez jersey last season. Then all those trade rumors came up. I wont be buying Nets jerseys or any professional team gear without the customize option.

How about "Brooklyn Bridge"
