I know it's a small sample size but he looked great on the floor with Batum the other night.

It's funny, I think he'll have the most success playing with our starters. All we'd ask out of him is to jack threes and mid range shots all game, and occasionally cut to the basket when there's space. It's a low-pressure role that caters to his strengths. Almost like a Harrison Barnes role.

Given enough playing time, lamb will be the best shooting wing in this team, yes, he is a better shooter than Batum, Lin, Walker

Lambsanity. I like it.

My only other suggestion was

The Other Jeremy

but I like Lambsanity better.

It's possible. I'm talking mostly about fit and maybe he'll be different with this crew but he tends to hold the ball a lot and shoot a lot compared to other wings on a per minute/touch basis. I'm less concerned with the shooting than the ball holding and he can't fill the role the team expects of him if that doesn't improve. So far he hasn't been entirely decisive with a sense of purpose when he possesses the ball.

I'm not down on him but he needs to adjust and it's the main reason Im not banking that he'll start long-term. There are no ball dominant non-point guards on the second unit so it'll be less of an issue there. Just something to consider.

Hopefully that will be easier for him with a smaller and more defined role in the first unit. He won't be asked to create or attack as much and that could make things more simple and manageable for him. That is the hope anyways.

I hope he shoots well this year. He'll probably be better than PJ but possibly not better than each or all of Lin, Marvin, Batum, and Troy if he sees limited action. Or Frank and Hawes for that matter.

Lin each of the last 2 years has been better in C&S than Lamb in both 3% and eFG% and was pretty remarkable one year at 40/60%. Batum was also better each year except the period his wrist was injured. Kemba and Marvin were both better and worse in efg and 3p depending on year.

And as mentioned above its not his shooting that will determine his role or how much he plays.

Daniels is the only person that might be a better deep threat, but he isn't near the overall player Lamb is.

In a Hartford Courant piece titled "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later," Lamb once said:
"I put up -- no, I make about 350 shots a day," Lamb says. "Sometimes more, but an average day, I make 300 to 350 a day. Takes me about an hour, hour and a half." http://www.courant.com/sports/uconn-men/hc-ss-uconn-men-jeremy-lamb-story.html

EDIT: I guess I'm just noticing thread's already been renamed Lambsanity nvm

Nice little piece on Lamb: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/writer/ken-berger/25336546/could-the-hornets-biggest-offseason-acquisition-be-a-different-jeremy

      Harsh line for PJ though:

"They love Lamb," said a league source plugged into the dynamics in Charlotte. "He's really the only long, athletic shooting guard they have now that Batum will be back at the three. He has a chance to be really good."

I'm sure that's because they think PJ projects to be a SF, not a SG...right?

I'm inclined to agree. PJ is so forgettable. He's probably only going to play if Batum/Lamb/Daniels gets hurt and we need a 10mpg backup at SG.
