fraanciiscoo wrote:My Team is about done 23 trades after ( out of 40 FFL trades ) !!!! Yes 23 !!! Almost didnt sleep for the past month but reach to the final of the draft happy cause when i made the decision ( not easy ) to trade ADavies I had in mind to pick lillard@12 I was and i ´m big on him then when i had the opp to get the #13 I had two path to go either i pick ADrummond DAJ or Lillard and klayT but I thought i could get hassan/noel @40 or Teague/gay/dipo/hayward... @40
But the idea of getting top 3 8 9 + there were going to be tons of small ball but cmon who could get tank ft?gobert/griffin + hassan? not going to happend cause wouldnt have the same strength. The idea of not having others gm taking out my players was sexy and i move from there to the tank FT
When I got to 40 I thought it was not worth to pick teague since there was dennis kind of pg of the future and since his contract is great he is a fantastic trading chip I liked other players like pg dragic payton pg/sg monta reke pfc monroe

If I would keep my picks Adavis + Bosh + Teague
If I would go small with the picks i traded Lillard + KlayT + Teague
with Adrummond + DAJ I decided to trade down and hoped I could get a few of my tank ft% players

( my thoughts will continued when I have more time - right now I reach to the 40th pick )

and i got to my pick 52 and 53 oh fword
Dragic was there
payton was there
monta was there
reke was there
monroe was there
and i started considering other two players Thad young and Terrence Jones

what should i do with my life ?
Payton was a lock that i was 100% sure in my mind but but...

two trades know on my door
I had @ that time ADrummond DeAndre jordan 52 53 80 93 120 121 160 161 200 240 241 268
the 1st it was I that offered to Alcig why i wanted to pick 3 guys
alcig 54 143 147
fran 80 93 121
Alcig liked the tier 80-120 and correctly thought 26 jumps down was worth it for 50 up and 26 up
and I see me with Ad daj 52 53 54 120 143 147 160 161 200 240 241 268

I was ok with getting payton + Dragic and monroe ( the last two i ranking way over 53 and 54 on a 9 cat h2h league and they could be a nice trade chip cause I thought correctly: Hey outside me and Curt ( that had lbj hassan and wiggings ) I dont see how can other teams can pick guys that had under .750 ft

Then came Brian ( WB ) knocking on my door
ring ring
hey bud who are you going to pick? ( if you talk with wb alot you know that this got to be one of his favorite quotes )
Idk I said probably Dragic payton and monroe just checking the projections from bbm and rotoworld + my own
( on a side note when i trade him the 40th 81th 108 for the 52 53 93 he consider both dragic and conley and he said correctly that both wouldnt be there over 50 and they shouldnt but i told him i wasnt expecting dragic to be there but i belived that conley would be since he is underrated )
they both were and he made me a offer
wb 68 81
fran 52 120
i moved 16 spots down and 39 up i think it was also fair and no only could say otherwise

when you do analitics&projections regarding where to draft/where he would be picked and so on this is what i do best ( such humility )
If I m going to tank FT - for exemple hassan was ranked 8th should i pick him there? No I go to my rankings and combine the projections from bbm rotoworld etc give them a coefficient of trust and get to my own rankings so if he is normally grabed @ pick 35 I start thinking on him around pick 33 cause i will get a player that in my strategy is ranked way higher but since no others weren´t tanking Ft outside me and curt i just need to have my picks before him and so on

Other things that i do is gain vs loss in tiers of draft picks
we all agree that the two trade were not one side and were infact fair
ok now join the two trades
I got 54 68 81 143 147
I give 52 80 93 120 121

So you can do two fair trades but when you join them you look like you took the best way with it? Right now i think i have 50% saying I would never trade with him and the other 50%saying I knew that motherFword

let me put like this
A) the other two trades were fair? right
B) If you think this is somekind of brag ( yeah probably 100% of you think that )but it got nothing to do what that - i m just trying to explain how important is to make trades
C) I think both Alcig and Wb were happy and infact they didnt gave alot to get what they want
D) everyone is happy and I will try to get 4 guys that were ranked in my book top 50-80 insted of 3 without reach for any

Wb took Dragic #52 good pick imo
I took payton #53 to keep him and Monroe #54 thinking I could trade him latter but @ 54 he was a better pick than reke/thad/TJones/Monta and that could try to get them if they were took by a guy that wanted Monroe

Jfrost took monta #64 and he become a instant trade partner for monroe
#68 came and i still had reke thad Tjones
I did the math and I was between Reke and TJ I thought I could get thad @81 while i couldnt get the others
I decided for TJ

#69 was a BIG surprise Lma WM Mcw and the Dh? wow I wasn´t expecting that i was expection Curt to pick him @80 outch
that changes alot cause i dont think reke will pass curt now i got to make a move asap

I try to get 3si 71 but he wanted 95-120 in return and i didnt had that so i went to get it
I remember alcig had picks that picks and he might want to have the 80 and 81 together insted of the 98 121
fran 81 147 160 161
alcig 98 121 134 187
and we reach to a deal

now i could make that deal for the 71 and get reke so i did and I admit that I overpay move up 27spots move down 89
3si 71 210
fran 98 121

But then again if you add the two trades
get 71 134 187 210
give 81 147 160 161

And I took Reke #71

It come the time of to trade Monroe since i just lost the 81 I couldn´t get Thad and I would need Thad stats especially that over 1.8 stl to pair with payton
I start talking when it Curt was on the clock and reach to this agreement
get 81 94 227 254
give Monroe 187 210 240
If Thad was not there i would keep Monroe for sure
But Curt took Deron williams ( cmon bud !?!?!?!? ) and we made the trade
look like a overpay but when you have millsap + lowry + it3 + beal + Monroe ( monroe imo was worth of that overpay due to fit )
with the #81 I choose to pick thad that was perfect fit for my team

@94 I had two clear targets A) Wade or B) Rondo and I trully though i could get both or one of them

But wade got picked #89 make sence for tk and rondo was picked #92 for the man ( Idk what was his doing really ) I had two options A)Trade down and get two earlly 100´ish pick cause i wanted to get there CJMcollum ( yeah sabonis i love him but no i wont trade DaJ for him thats a bit 2much ) and my boy Marcus smart
B) Reach for one of them
C) pick covington cause not only he was Bpa had also two extra options trade him to a tank fg team with a small ball strategy or start bumping my 3pts

and this finish the top 100

My team #12Adrummond #13Daj #53Payton #68Tjones #71Reke #81That #94Covington
If I would keep all my picks #1Adavies #40Bosh #41Teague #80Beal #81thad
If I only my 3 inicial trades #12ADrummond #13DaJ #52Dragic #53Payton #80Thad #93Covington

That moment when TL/DR ends with 'to be continued'.

6 hour limit is BS. Just so everyone knows. I was ready to pick or leave a list right before bed and came to the computer first thing in the morning and still got skiped.

what amazes me is how much time he has in his hands with all the thought and negotiations for the trades, with all the research he's doing to pick (he even takes 8 hours to research and read all the news out there), and then come here and post billion lines long walls of text.

I mean wasn't he married or something? what the actual f***?

btw fran, let's see the bbm projections for each team. I think I will be at 16 in that projection.

We have the most drama of any fantasy league. It used to bug me but now I just roll with it. I keep thinking if we were all face to face in a sports bar we would end up best buds.

Looking forward to the projections. I'll try to do some of my own but I doubt I can do any kind of decent job until a couple of weeks out.

I find the drama entertaining. I think my team will be ok, except for losing MKG. Now I have to replace him once we are up on Yahoo. Since I didn't have time for heavy research, I basically borrowed the punt steals build I used last year in another league (BOSF). Only finished 7 of 16 but had injuries, so I have hope.

what a nice idea !!!! I invited Brian to come to portugal and stay here for a couple of days when he was in europe but he thought ( correctly ) I would trade him if he came here

I just input your team and got to say from 1-6lotto you are 2nd and have a nice team - glad that you gave me extra work cause you picked a guy that doesnt exist for BMM and I decided to put his brother insted
I was thinking to do a crazy thing
A)project the win loss final record ( without any moves to the original team ) + playoffs projection
B)Top ( 1/2 ) strongs(3 to 7) avr (8 to 12 ) below avr ( 13 to 16 ) bad (wrost 3 ) per cat
C)each 21 games projection for each team
ps if I give you the projections do you mind doing the write ups? I do the other things a) b) c)

Ha! You know one day I'm going to show up at your door with my family of 6! I'm taking up Gokce's invite to tour Turkey too.

Btw: one of the reasons I stay in this league is because of the camaraderie we've built over the last decade.
