they are sitting on his fastball just like the game 1. he needs to throw his breaking balls for a strike too here. can't use breaking stuff to lure hitters only, go after them time to time!

Somebody Try to Bartman Seager?

Post#184 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 14, 2015 1:04 am

My stream froze up but I read that some Met fan unsuccessfully tried to knock the ball out of Seager's glove on the catch. Pathetic.

that's a New Yorker for you.

Seager has more class than I do. I would have had the ump throw that guy out of the game.

Maddeningly Mattingly

Post#186 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 14, 2015 1:09 am

A.J. Ellis sets the Dodger record for consecutive hits in the postseason surpassing Carl Crawford with a single for a 12-game hitting streak, but Mattingly decided to sit him in non-Kershaw games while the team has been struggling on offense.

Murphy's Law

Post#187 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 14, 2015 1:15 am

Daniel Murphy hits a solo shot, his 2nd off Kershaw in the series, and the Dodger lead is now 3-1.

Update: TBS just stated that he only had 1 HR against LHP during the regular season. Go figure.

Granderson and Murphy….good cuts on Kershaw all series.

Tuck that note in your back pocket Donnie when managing the championship innings of this game.
I don't mind letting him see them again btw.

But something to think about if he's in trouble.

but that knocks Mats out, and if they are really gonna bring in DeGrom and he has to pitch another inning in this game to extend their chances to say, 7th inning, he won't be available for game 5.

It was not and Corey took that because he took two similar pitches for balls in his 1st at bat.

this is it for Kershaw. if Potato has any brain, he should not extend Kershaw to his fateful 7th again, especially on a 3 day rest. Jensen has the 9th, Hatcher should take the ball on 7th. the question will be who takes the mound for the 8th. it could be Peralta. maybe JP. but come on Potato, let Kershaw get three more outs.

7-8-9 Innings

Post#200 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 14, 2015 1:55 am

I'm more comfortable with Hatcher in the 8th at the moment, which is totally different from what I was feeling about him earlier in the season. I like either Avilan or Howell for the 7th and, obviously, Jansen for the 9th.

It passes on the lefty-righty adjustment dynamic in the 7th and we do use a lot of our good bullpen arms tonight, which may limit availability in the next game, but I'm not taking anything for granted.
