I got engaged in San Fran. Does that count?

I'm from Southern California. I know it doesn't count, but I just wanted to point that out, as it might explain some of the natural tension between me and Floppy. ;)

Seriously, I thought I'd be bottom 2.

No worries. Last year I was ranked bottom 2 by BBM, but ended up competing for top 8 before injuries pushed me to 10 or 11...in other words, someone has to take my bottom 2 spot :)

That sounds about right. I tried focusing more on cats than upside this season. But, with the vacation I didn't really have the time to put into making trades that may have let me get a little more value from my strategy.

Like ever year in this league, injuries will play a key role, everyone here knows what they are doing. Minimal injury, and you should do well, one or two of your top 5 picks get hurt for extended part of the year, based on depth on wire, and your pretty much done.

We are done with the draft, I'll try to input rosters on yahoo this afternoon.

Rosters are now in yahoo, every free agent is on the waiver wire.

Looking at the WW makes me realize why injuries hurt so bad in this league :)

As a guy who has already lost a player for the year, I know.

at least you lost a late pick, what if your 1st or 2nd round pick got injured, that would have been disastrous.

waiting for your write-ups btw. getting bored!

Here is yahoo's take, sort of, on our teams:

http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba/6101/standings?stype=draftresults

Note that I had to use the 'last season's stats" option, because using the projections option was somehow broken (it though my team was near bottom in FT%, which is impossible. So the results you see are likely skewed away from teams that have lots of rookies, since they have no last year stats.

If Rookies/breakout candidates aren't taken into consideration, then 12th looks about right for me. I'm expecting lifts from Lamb, Neto, Lauvergne, and Aminu, so hopefully I see improvements in points and assists, maybe boards.

On the bright side, though, it's nice to see I'm top 3 in steals. I actually wasn't even planning on that. Top 5 in FG% is nice, especially considering I don't have a C who shoots about 49%. I was actually planning top 3 in assists with at least some minor advantage in boards. Guess that one didn't work out too well. In related news, anyone interested in trading some boards/points for steals/fg%, let me know.
