Stalling out the offense? I must have missed the part of the game where Larkin came in and made everything click.

What does larkin have to do with anything? the offense sucking under larkin doesnt mean it didnt also suck with jack in. if you've read my threads, you'd know that not having any starting calibur PGs are a problem.

our offense wasnt better under larkin... congrats jack wasnt any worse then a scrubby 3rd year reserve PG

Jack isnt a pass first PG. It's like complaining about Lopez not facilitating more out of the post. Jack's job is to score. If they didnt want a PG like Jack then they wouldnt be starting him. Most PGs in the NBA are score first guys in today's NBA. How many PG's average 10+ assist anymore? Its ridiculous when Jack has a 67.4% true shooting % game, and single handedly kept us in the game, that people still place the blame at his feet.

its great jack can score. its too bad he cant do anything else. its cool being a scoring point gaurd when you can get 20+ points a night on good efficiency and not kill your team in every other facet of the game. jack isnt some super effieint scorer either. getting 10 FTs against a crap team like philly in the preseason doesnt mean a whole lot. the guy is a 14 PER 52-54TS% type player who has never sniffed 18-20 points a game.

Ellington misses all of his shots.........Jack's fault
Bargnani and T-Rob miss the game.......Jack's fault
It's going to rain today...............Jack's fault

who said any of those things were jacks fault.

jacks man beating him and scoring twice late in the game .... irrelevant cause jack had 10 FTs
jack missing rotationes... irrelevant cause jack had 10 FTs
jack had 5 turnovers leading to 8 points off those turnovers.... irrelevant cause jack had 10 FTs

Jack doesnt have to be one of the best PG in the NBA since he is not paid like one. That was the problem with DWIll, he took up max salary with minimal production. Jack vastly outperforms his contract and that's all you can ask for in a salary cap league. The more players we have that do that, the better off we will be. Joe Johnson isnt giving us that. Brook needs to start dominating since this is his 2nd max contract.

who cares about deron williams and who said jack has to be one of the best point gaurds in the league?

you keep putting words in peoples mouth that no one said and no one insinuated.

Jack doesnt need to be one of the best point gaurds. but he does need to be better then one of the handful of worst starters in the league, which he currently is.

People want to relive the good ole day's of Kidd being the maestro play maker out there but that type of basketball doesnt work in today's NBA. You either shoot a ton of 3s like Golden State, Run a ton of pick and roll like the Clippers, or run non stop Isolation like the Cavs and Rockets.

no they dont. they want a starting calibur point gaurd starting, and not whatever scrub backup wins the job for us.
The stats from last year overwhelming suggest that our two best options are to get Lopez the ball and have Jack run Iso's. Stop trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

we dont have 2 best options. we have 1 best option. hope lopez takes good shots and plays consistent. if jack is taking 15-20 FGA a game we wont win much.

prediction : larkin and sloan will leapfrog jack in the rotation during november where jack becomes third string point guard forcing jack to third string point guard and possibly considering changing his game

jack is what, 31? he isnt changing his game. and if he got demoted to third string, he would be traded.

ok maybe just backup then cause i cant see him being able to pass first, run an offense, and play good defense, he hasnt been able to do this for years, he always been a score first pg type with lousy defense

I hope you are right. If so, Jack wont need to consider changing his game, because like Prokorov said, he would be on the trading block if he is third string PG. I wouldnt mind that either.

Jack has really disappointed me. Jack is a combo guard that shouldnt be considered for running an offense. He is a guy you give 10 minutes a game and let him just score. You hope within 10 minutes he scores 8-10 pts and then you put him back on the bench because he will kill you with everything else. Jack is Thornton without the 3pt shooting.

MrDollarBills wrote:The problem is, Lopez needs to get the ball to score. When your starting PG isn't looking to set up your #1 option it holds the team back. 1st unit needs a pass first player at PG to work. We saw that in the Detroit game and there were no issues, but against Philadelphia the assists were down all across the board. I'm not going to say that Jack is the reason why since I didn't see the game, but its something to consider.

We need Jack's scoring off of the bench. in the first unit we need ball movement. Having two ball stoppers at the 1 and 3 is going to limit Lopez. I think Hollins needs to seriously take a good look at the best way to maximize Lopez 1st and foremost and that may mean using Larkin.

We will LOSE if Jarrett Jack is getting more FGAs than Lopez. I like Jack a lot, but lets be real here. We either sink or swim depending on Lopez's nightly production.

I hear you blame the guy who built this mess the coach just has to make do with what he's given. No offense, but I think this team will lose regardless who the starting pg is.
