Randle is starting to look like he's the real deal, but come on now...

Wiggins is only a sophomore (like Randle, technically), he's going to be phenomenal.

Wiggins can simply do more on both ends of the floor. Wiggins is likely to end up being a top 3 player in the league at his peak. Not to mention he's a lower risk on the injury front.

I wouldn't be shocked if Randle ended up being a better player down the road, I'm just not incredibly high on Wiggins I guess. For now though it's not a comparison worth having in great depth, Randle hasn't done anything.

Not only do I take Wiggins ahead of Randle in that draft class, but I take Jabari Parker ahead of Randle as well, those 2 players can simply do much more for a team than Randle can but those are the 3 best prospects from that class in my opinion. Embiid was just too damn risky.

Wiggins potential is insane. He's the next wing superstar IMO. He has every tool.

Easily Wiggins, but I wouldn't be surprised if Randle becomes the second best player at that draft. Jury is out on Jabari, considering his injury is more likely to cause further issues than Julius'. Embiid, as much as i hope he gets it together, is going down a pretty bad path right now, and Exum and Gordon haven't exactly impressed with their health. It's funny...that draft was supposed to be all time great draft...but it seems like the second spot is up for grabs right now.

It's just homeristic to rate Randle any where near Wiggins right now, both for right now and the future. He definitely has potential to blow up, and Wiggins could always be overhyped, but as of right now, i just don't see a comparison. Wiggins has shown flashes, has potential and is healthy. Randle has shown flashes (in just two preseasons, while Wiggins maintained it for a year), has potential, and is coming off a season ending injury. Maybe we could revisit this after the season though. If Julius maintains this for atleast a year, and Wiggins doesn't jump into allstar status this year, it would be more interesting.

if they both didnt wear lakers uniform id take wiggins, EXPLOSIVE wing who can guard, post up well, and shoot well ALL in the young age of 21? you cant pass that up.

but since we have randle is in lakers uni? FCK wiggins lol

seriously, randle got size, speed, strength, AND HANDLE!! the only one in his draft class (maybe besides jabari lol).
you just cant go wrong with either one of them. just wish them both a healthy career.

I'd still pick WIggins, but I'm not super high on either. I don't see Wiggins as a top transcendent type of player. He may be an all-star regular for years go come, but that's likely where his ceiling is at. I don't think he's as physically gifted and as skillful as Tracey McGrady and definitely not Kobe at the same age. Your average #1 pick likely gives value similar to Elton Brand or Glen Robinson, so Wiggins at least projects as good or better.

I'm glad the Lakers were lucky to draft Randle since he was BPA and still looks to be a solid pick. The fact that he has various skill sets does overrate him since he's not a master of anything yet. I don't think he's as good of a prospect that someone like Lamar Odom was coming into the league. This doesn't mean that I think he'll suck, but Randle just comes off as a future solid starter type which is actually great value given is draft position which generally averages out to the Brandon Knight and JJ Reddicks of the league. Randle may be better than these 2 guys, but I'm not sure if it's by a whole lot.

2 years from now I predict Randle will be the better, more impactful player, and the silliness of the question will be flipped...
But this season and as an essential sure thing for the next 1 or 2 seasons, I'd take Wiggins.

Wiggins but im not as high on him either....dont think hes ona be a top 3 player at his peak like some do here....at best i see him as a more athletic Paul George at his peak. His shooting is still streaky and his ability to create his own shot isnt all there either

I don't think Wiggins will ever be a great jump shooter, his bread and butter will be his drives to the hoop. He is versatile though and so is Julius in terms of playmaking. But for now Julius has the edge because he's going to be a load to stop, just his sheer speed and strength is far more superior than Wiggins at this stage. Until Wiggins builds up his body he's going to have to rely solely on his athleticism to get him over....which debunks the "low risk" to injury theory that one poster put.

But for guys here to just pick Wiggins by a landslide as if Julius will never be a star is just asinine. Do guys even look at the broader scale ? Look at who Wiggins will play against most of his career compared to who Julius will face, and tell me who will eventually dominate nightly ?

In an era where teams will rely too heavily on a stretch 4, Julius is just the guy to reverse the trend or expand it seeing he can also shoot pretty well from distance and will get better at it and has enough explosion to get past slow footed 4's for easy buckets.
