Ben Gordon was waived by GS. I'm glad the Warriors cut him. Now watch him go to Cleveland or NY

The Charlotte speculation is going to be out of control with us getting the ASG in 2017.

Curry - Kemba
Batum - Lin
MKG - Lamb

Layoffs and cutbacks in Lakers TV land due to falling ratings

Post#7 » by spaceballer » Fri Oct 16, 2015 1:32 am

Daily News wrote:An unspecified number of layoffs and programming cutbacks have taken place at Time Warner Cable’s El Segundo-based TWC SportsNet —home of the Lakers— SportsNet LA —home of the Dodgers— and TWC Deportes, according to several sources and confirmed by the company this morning.

Details on how many were let go and how it broke down by departments was not detailed. Sources indicated more than 30 people have been let go at Deportes, including all of its on-air talent, meaning no more pre- or post-game shows for the Galaxy or any kind of programming not related to live event coverage.

TWC SportsNet will also cut back on ancillary coverage surrounding the Lakers, Sparks and Galaxy. The Dodgers’ SportsNet LA will stop producing news shows such as Dodgers Clubhouse and Larry King At Bat.

The popular “Backstage” shows, which are produced in-house, will remain, a spokesman said.

------

In a memo to staff employees, TWC Sports indicated the struggling ratings were the reason for the cutbacks.

Are we the least tatted up team in the NBA

...and at the same time...

Do we lead the league in guys who's only visible tattoos peak out from underneath their jersey?

I do remember this one guy charting every tattoo of every NBA player on his database/homepage. And we came out as the last tatted up team in his research like two years ago.

Apparently a startup league with 6 teams based in Vegas: the Dealers, High Rollers, i15s, 702, Westerners, and Wild Aces.
According to the website, the league has so far signed: Royce White, Mych Kabongo, Henry Walker, Josh Selby, Dajuan Wagner, Hassan Adams, Terrence Williams, David Harrison and Antoine Wright.
Expect the basketball version of Slap Shot.

God must love Lamar Odom. Going from brain dead with no functional organs to talking and rapidly recovering in 24 hours is a damn miracle.

Hopefully he learns his lesson.

TMZ and ESPN pay those people off to get the inside info. There are definitely laws about medical information being released, and in his case and every other celebrities ordeal ir athletes if it's severe it gets broken.

Was at the Garden for Celtic vs Nets last night.

Boston wise Smart reminded me a LOT of Kemba. The team looked OK, but I had a hard time seeing the 40+ win team that some of the advanced stats guys are predicting.

Nets players overall looked really frustrated even though the team had some scrappy good stretches. Think it's going to be a long season for those guys.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I would be more willing to bet that both the Celtics and the Bucks miss the playoffs than that they both make it. I'm not sold on either of them.

The Bucks kind of look like us from last season. Very talented, but little spacing and questionable interior defense. If we'd been able to snag Hayward, it would've been the perfect example. I think they're a 6-8 seed, with Boston a spot or two behind them.
