Lin can do more than just score points, if his shots are not falling, he will be focusing on defending and play making and help the team win in other ways.

With Lin, Kemba and Nic creating opportunities for the hornets and having Al down low as insurance in case outside shots don't fall. The team is complete. Looking forward to a surprising season.

The team is not complete. Losing MKG's defense was a major blow, and there is no rim protector when Al sits.

One or two injuries to key guys and even the current longshot chance of making the playoffs can go out the window.

I think the team has enough offensive power to overcome the defensive deficiencies and make the playoffs. And maybe MKG can be back just in time to make the playoff run and see how far we can go. Wouldn't that be sweet?

I'm rubber necking like a ****. Can't help but think this roller coaster is gonna crash A few times before its all said and done.

Can't wait!

I'm neither impressed or disturbed. Flat out annoyed at times. I do like new fans of the team though.

talk about annoying... anyway back to talking about Lin and the team and not the fans.

I can't believe I just watched 4 episodes of Fresh Off The Boat because of Lin... and I don't hate it. The mom is hot and the two youngest kids are funny.

(It is nothing against Lin fans; I just don't understand the whole , for lack of better term, "Fan Boy" mentality when it comes to individual humans ie athletes, artists, politicians, etc.)

Let me try and help you understand by giving you some analogies.

Frank Robinson was big for black people. He opened the door for black baseball players to play in MLB. We all know his history.

Manny Pacquiao is big for Filipinos. Obviously, he's the most popular athlete from the Phillipines and don't be surprise if he becomes president of that country someday.

Rocky Balboa was big for white Italian Americans when he beat that steroid-pumping Russian Dolph Lundgren in that epic battle in Rocky IV. That boxing match basically ended the Cold War.

Jeremy Lin is big for the same reasons as those three mentioned above. Lin will go down in history as one sports greatest icons. And Charlotte fans now get to see him in person. I'm actually jealous that a little city like Charlotte gets this icon.

Not sure you are helping.

not sure whether he could play tomorrow or not. Must be very tiring during the trip. Hope other players are okay.

Lol. Not trolling. Just weirdness.

That being said I have very high hopes for Lin. As does everyone on this board.

I'm sorry, it was a well intended post and all but it's just funny to me.

Hahaha, yeah Frank Robinson!

There was that other black guy, Jackie Robinson. He was in a movie, but he didn't put up big numbers like Frank Robinson. This Frank Robinson put up the big numbers that made baseball teams sign other black players, http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/robinfr02.shtml :)

I use to be a baseball fanatic, and can honestly say that Josh Gibson could easily be the best player ever. Let alone he was African American.

We're off topic now, but always enlightening to talk a tad baseball on here :)

First time to hear about this guy! Almost a decade after Jackie.

Robinson was the first African-American hired to serve as manager in Major League history. Wow!

Being a huge fan of The Office, my first thought was: "What's Lin doing with 'Jim's actor friend' who appeared in like 30 seconds of a cold open in which they prank Dwight into believing that Jim was always Asian?"

I have a problem.

With the Triangle, there's not much reason to spend money at the PG position. Especially when they're still stuck with Calderon's big contract as the price of taking in a future draft pick and offloading underperforming guys in trade, and they've got cheap drafted guys on rookie contracts. The triangle only needs a 3&D defender (like Fisher), not a star PG. Money is better spent elsewhere with that offense.

2 mil per year is not star PG pay though.
