I would say rest Wall for this one, maybe Gortat too. Do a "rehearsal" run against Miami. Crappy thing is I wish we played MIL earlier to get a better gauge where we are, would rather play starters against them then PHI :/

I'm hopping Wall, Porter, and Gortat(by my reckoning our 3 best players) get the night off. Let's see plenty of Harrellson and Oubre while Beal runs the offense.

From the look of things the game isn't being televised for whatever reason.

So this game is not televised locally?

came in a little late but got to see some aggresive Otto and decent looks for Beal. Blair had two good put backs but is having a difficult time against Henson.

I got a stream. Wall, Nene, Temple are out tonight. The pace is much slower. And they aren't hitting there shots yet. Plus a couple of lazy TOs.

The team is a bit slow on defense rotations, I'm attributing that to playing on a B2b. For not having Wall in a preseason game it isn't that bad. Gooden missed some good looks.

Yeah, they couldn't continue their hot streak from yesterday but they are actual NBA players on the court defending them today so...
Still, the first unit held their own even with Sessions. but that depleeted second unit can neither score nor defend.

They are still making it a game, which they deserve some credit for. They haven't mailed it in yet. Oubre needs to make the easy play. Was open for a baseline 3 pt look, pumped faked and tried to do a pull up 2, got blocked/stripped from Vasquez. To his credit he scrapped after, but this is the type of stuff he ought to get exposed to in order to get it out of his system. Ish Smith seems to shy away from open looks from the perimeter more then Wall.

Much better in the second quarter. They picked up the pace as well. Henson alone under the basket fumbling the ball and no one even trying to get there is inexcusable though ;)

Blair's scoring rate has been obscene in the preseason

37 points in 42 minutes played so far.

Henson is scoring pretty much whenever he wants, and Neal isn't exactly Pat. Beverly out there. Nor in his career. Are you watching the stream or just commenting because the stats don't back up either of the two for the last few seasons? C'mon, surely you don't think one preseason game is the beginning of a trend for two career journeymen.

Good to see our offense looks serviceable even without Wall. Hump looks a little lost out there, I don't think he trusts his ability to hit the 3 pointer and his defense on the perimeter is lacking. I've generally been a fan of his, but I think we need to try/find a different starting stretch 4

edit. Of course with that said, its more the threat of the 3 pointer that's important. With Hump out there the team is a force on the boards, something I don't think could be said if a smaller player was out there.

Because he's short and fat the Wizards should cut Blair. (Many of you have posted as much).

Get Blair out and put that big stiff Jaleel Roberts in.

Josh Harrelson for Blair, get it done.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Return to Washington Wizards
