The Nebula Hassan (Nothing relative rhymed)

Post#1 » by Bishop45 » Sun Oct 18, 2015 6:49 pm

He's not prime Shaq and reputably no where near the same as a passer but this thread made as a precautionary lest this becomes an issue. Obviously going to see more touches, very productive/effective but steady on his Kobe ish (Triple-Double, no assist). Has no problem attracting the double-triple team (spacing looked a lot better with him yesterday) but where does that leave our offense with him as our biggest attraction who's on par with offensive black-holes of the Jurassic era?

Prime Dwight if were lucky; http://www.basketball-reference.com/blog/?p=8847 (Sorry couldn't find any recent charts for some reason)

I think best case scenario, either A or B happens.

A: Hassan centric offense, avg between 16-20 pts and possibly one assist(not sure if there's been any 16+ scorers not to average an assist)

B: We get him to commit to ball movement before instinct and he averages between 14-16 pts, 1-2 assists.

We haven't been running many plays and lack chemistry but from what I've seen these seem plausibly in the air, how do y'all see it? overreaction in the black hole reference this early? over or under averaging one assist this season? :)

I see most likely the B scenario, though I woudnt complain with either one of em. I remember last game vs Houston he gave an outlet pass to Deng? Or who ever was in the corner but he stepped out of bounds for the 3. I can see him giving those corner passes when he's surrounded underneath the basket for an assist or two.

I think it's more likely that we make him apart of an offense instead of the center of it as well, but in the off chance that he can't integrate and we play towards his strengths- we'd have to become real interesting on offense. I'm kinda more interested in if he could do A and be efficient

It was green... Also as he get acclimated with the pick and role he will be able to see the slasher, he will average 3 assist

So long as he isn't turning the ball over, and shooting under 60 percent, then I'm fine with him not passing. It will be interesting to see how teams double or triple team him. Teams used to double and triple Shaq, and he still put up his numbers.
