But if you have them placed on the IR and they come back from injury you CAN leave them there. You just will be unable to pick up a freeagent until you take them off the IR

Yup they need to be confirmed out to get the big red O beside their name. Even if they are questionable they get DTD beside their name instead and aren't IR eligible. I think all leagues should have one IR spot. I've played in leagues with 3 or more IR spots and that's just a horrid overkill.

From my experience the IR spot is great for quality of life, and is not really prone to abuse at all.

I have two in the fantasy football leagues...thankfully since I have Romo and Bryant on one team. I just don't think you should be extra penalized by having fewer available players due to an injury...you are already screwed enough...you are basically replacing him with the scrap free agent anyway.

ESPN must be different than yahoo, because in the roto leagues we are just abusing the IR as a 13th spot and I really want to avoid that. Couple more questions: Can we also limit the IR spot to only players that you already own(so no picking up an injured player who wasnt on your roster)? What happens when the IR player is no longer eligible for the slot? You have to cut a player right?

They can stay until you make another roster move as Phystic said.

I don't quite see how using the IR spot is abuse. You're locked to 12 active players, it just allows a bit more freedom to take a fly on a free agent. Fair play, most people will have at least one injured player at any time.

Yeah, IR isnt an abuse at all. Once that player is no longer injured, you have to cut somebody else.

You cannot pick up a player in espn directly to your IR. You would have to have an open bench spot.

It is mostly going to allow teams with like 3 injuries to be more competitive. Because when you can't rotate anyone in because you have so many injuries, you will get beat every week.

Every start count in this league, even if you add a crappy player he'll make a difference in the long run. Sometimes you can find a really good player in this scenario...

This is a MUST HAVE in any fantasy league

I was talking more about the yahoo IR system is benig abused, since currently in our roto leagues there aren't any restrictions on IR as there are in ESPN - its essentially 13th roster spot and people are stashing uninjured free agents. Sounds like that can't happen in ESPN so we'll probably have one.

I'll draft Patrick Patterson

That's weird because in the D league I can't even see the IR spot, and it says two of my players are injured, even though they are not out. Are you sure even those that don't have any injured players see it? It would make sense that those with Kyrie and stuff have it automatically, and that they can add another player.
