You wouldn't hate Oladipo so much if you didn't desperately want him to be something that he isn't, instead of appreciating him for what he is now and could be in the future. The problem is yours, not the rest of the board.

If you wanted to do comparisons based on recent events, you could look at the fact that Dipo has scored 71 points on 48FGA with a .541/.444/.685 shooting line in 6 preseason games, good for 14.3ppg.

McCollum has scored 96 preseason points on 88 shots with a .420/.379/.785 line. 19.2ppg in 5 games,

That's scoring out of the way. What about other stuff? Dipo has out-rebounded McCollum 3.8 to 2.4 on a per game basis, despite McCollum playing 30.8mpg to Dipo's 25mpg. Dipo has averaged 1.5spg to McCollum's 0.6spg. McCollum has a significant advantage in apg (5.4 to 2.5) and a small advantage in blocks (0.4 to 0.3), but has turned the ball over twice as much (2.4 to 1.2).

What does all this tell us? Not a damn thing, really. McCollum has played regular season minutes and has been given the green light to shoot, and he's put up some numbers, albeit not overly efficient ones. Dipo has played far less than he will in the regular season, and under a new coach in a new system. Is he likely to only attempt 8 shots per game in the regular season? Absolutely not, just like he won't have a TS% of 65% in the regular season.

Based on what I knew of them prior to the draft, and what we've seen of them in two NBA seasons, I'll stick take Dipo every time. This thread should be filed in the same vault that contains all of the non-ironic Anthony Randolph summer league threads.

I'm assuming you are bored and trolling, buuut.... if on the off chance you are serious, just go look at this link: http://stats.nba.com/vs/#!/?PlayerID=203468&VsPlayerID=203506.

Edit: As a note, Victor also destroys CJ in per 36. So...

How did you come to the conclusion that Oladipo "destroys" CJ in per36? I don't see what you're seeing.

I didn't watch much of C.J. last season, but I'm willing to bet that he mostly played with the bench and crappy players. There are also other factors such as CJ having a much bigger transition from college to NBA, limited opportunity due to good-great players like Lillard and Matthew.

Do you really think Oladipo would have the standing he has on this board today if he was behind Lillard and Matthews? Answer: resounding no.

So...you didn't watch him, yet you're endorsing him as superior to Dipo. Makes sense to me.

From that thread.

OBT - OAKRIDGE wrote:If you place Oladipo in this year's draft, he's really not that high.

1. Embiid
2. Jabari
3. Wiggins
4. Randle
5. Smart
6. Exum
7.LaVine
8. Gordon
9. Vonleh
10. Oladipo

Either way you look at it, Oladipo's not going before the 6th pick.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't trade Oladipo for LaVine if we got Smart.

So, after a year Oladipo would be 3 or 4 depending on how you value Gordon. (Wiggins, Parker, Dipo/Gordon).

Interesting how time changes perception. I'd rather have Dipo and Gordon than Parker too. On that list Wiggins is the only guy I'd take ahead of them. Maybe in a year from now that opinion changes.

Right now its looking like we should have taken montrezl Harrell over Gordon.

I don't even know what to say. You would rather Lavine? WTF has he shown? I mean I get not liking a player, as I am not too hot on Tobias, but wow. I also liked CJ in that draft, but at least wait for him to play a whole season before you anoint him...

I like McCollum. I'd take Oladipo over him 10/10 though.

This thread is over.

Anyone is free to give their opinions on a player but as per examples given by Orlwillbeback who got 2 well-deserved AND 1's from me, this thread was meant to troll about Victor Oladipo.

You cannot beat the drum and derail discussion on this forum because you do not like a player.

If anyone sees this happening again, please report it.
