I was being a tad facetious in my comment, but still, Gay and Cuz looked a bit lost for chunks of the preseason so I guess we'll see how that effects things early on in the year. I hope he puts some stuff in during the next 10 days of practice that focuses on getting Cuz and Gay into the scheme more. My only real concern with the post offense is their ability to spread the floor, beyond that getting the ball in the post and moving isn't rocket science so it shouldn't be a huge issue with the exception of the shooting issues.

Yup, they looked lost because their roles weren't totally defined in the sets we were running. Them not starting with complete continuity in the offense system we run is how it will affect them. When they are caught in a spot where they need to create in said system those guys have the skills to overcome this and get their own shoot. Those shots right now are on the perimeter because they are easier shots to get. The post game will come along as they install it and get practice time in. Karl has addressed it and said that they will get if fixed.

Karl never really had a dominate post scorer before. So, I don't think Karl has many schemes on post O.

I kinda expect Cousins will utilize his face-up abilities more often with Karl as coach. That can turn out as a genius move or a disaster waiting to happen.

In a perfect world, a balanced mode of attack of perimeter and post is optimal.

Blah blah blah, DMC scores from many areas and sets, not just the post. In fact, if you go by the #s, he is predominately a mid-range jump shooter and face up and drive player. That is where he likes to get the ball and feels most comfortable. He does have a post game and will muscle down in the post but it is the smaller percentage than midrange and face-up.

Fortunately, that is how Karl likes to use his big men. Plus he has been coaching for more than 25 years and knows how to use his big men. Even if he never had a "post scorer" before (which he has, Joe Barry Carroll, Vin Baker, mature Shawn Kemp, Nene, Koufos amd Mozgov), he know how to adjust his gameplan to benefit his stars. He will put in post plays that are appropriate for the system and the player to get DMC and Gay easy shots. That is the point.
