Some people on this board defend Winslow to the point that anyone who sees anything negative with his game is made to feel blind or stupid. Still, Winslow's lack of proficiency at the charity stripe is noteworthy. His inability to make free - throws doesn't bode well for his success as a shooter. Another concern is his mental agility playing off the ball and in certain defensive sequences. Well, time will tell....but this may be the exception that proves the rule "that good things come to those who wait".

Funny stuff lol, although sometimes I wish our commentators were a little bit partial.
i and those who were watching the game with me made the exact comment but its okay the sunshine network crew is way more pro than these people so thats why they arent that way.plus i believe that both commentators are originally from new york so that's why they arent as partial...lol

i'd give him the benefit of the doubt for now since he is just 19 years old playing in a league full of grown men.so, i think its just a matter of time for him to come out of his shell, otherwise he could be telling jokes to Beasley in china in a couple of years (winslow fans this was a joke, dont kill me lol)

I'd like to see Winslow driving aggressively some more tho... we know he can do that. I'd like to see him force it a little more

A HUGE hit. That perimeter defense would be terrible. Who do you put on the opposing team's best wing? Green?

Sure Ennis was OK down low but his shooting is still way off. Does this team even have a shooting coach?

That's a great **** question. Because if we do have a shooting coach, then why the **** hasn't he been banished to the hottest depths of hell?

If Winslow can embrace the defensive, play-making wing role that makes little mistakes on this team THIS year, then it's more than enough for me. Winslow has YEARS upon YEARS to improve upon his scoring. We already have a great pillar for him to stand on and develop, which is his driving ability. That's always going to be there.

How so? Are you saying he simply doesn't have a good touch? I'd strongly disagree with that, since he shot the ball well from three in his last year in college despite having poor mechanics. He simply needs to improve his technique a lot, which is something a lot of players need to do when coming into the league. Thus, I don't agree with your assessment that his poor free throw shooting is an indicator of him not becoming a decent shooter. It goes in line with the rest of your post that points out very basic problems that many rookies have when coming into this league. Playing off the ball and defending in the NBA is an entirely different animal compared to college because the game is so much faster. Ask any college athlete what the biggest adjustment was and 90% will tell you it's the strength and the speed of the players and the game.

What I don't like is, you're picking up those very normal problems and use them to predict Winslow won't be a good NBA player. He clearly has plenty of things to work on, but a lot of them are fixable if he's willing to fix them. Thus, I'd change your sentence to "good things come to those who work hard", because the number one reason many rookies fail in this league is working hard and being smart about their entire lifestyle.
