RealGM's Top 3 for 2015/2016

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:25 pm

We are less than a week away from the start of the NBA 2015/2016 Regular Season! Like most of you this could not arrive quickly enough for me. We are looking at what could be a very impressive stretch of basketball over the next several months.

With that in mind I would like to begin an event for the posters of RealGM in which we will submit ballots ranking our top three players at every position as well as a few other categories.

What I ask for each ballot is to list three choices for each category in order from First to Third. **Only complete ballots will be counted** At the end of the voting period (October 28, 2015) I will tabulate all of the votes and post the collective results of the Top Three according to the RealGM posters. I will tabulate the results by two different measures:

First will be ranked by points received. A first place vote gets 3 points; a second place vote gets 2 points; and a third place vote gets 3 points. This is why the order matters, and Ties are not allowed. If a ballot lists anyone in a Tie then I will count them by the order in which they are mentioned.

The Second measure will be for an overall total of mentions on submitted ballots.

I'd like to ask everyone to keep discussion to a minimum in this thread while the voting period is open.

After posting these results we will open voting again at three points in this season. The next round of votes will be around the end of 2015, after that the next voting period will be All-Star Break and we will conclude this event with a final vote at the end of the Regular Season. It should be interesting to see how opinions may change over the course of one season.

The feedback I've received from our fans is they understand we are trying to build something great. Good decisions come from having a broad set of options and making tough calls. We will do it unblinkingly. We have to be willing to take smart risks-Hinkie

If you see a +1 from me that means that I have counted your vote.

If you want to edit your ballot please post a message on this thread telling me what you changed. For example if this was your original ballot:

Shooting Guard:
1. Jimmy Chitwood
2. Nawt
3. Jesus Shuttlesworth

And then you realize that Nawt was a Point Guard (took Muggsey Bogues abilities). Just post a message saying something like "My original ballot had 1. Chitwood 2. Nawt 3. Shuttlesworth. I removed Nawt at #2 and my new ballot is 1. Chitwood 2. Shuttlesworth 3. Scott Howard"

Thank you to everyone who has voted so far. I would appreciate people letting others know about this thread!

edit - BubbleBuddy - I got your change at Coach. You're covered.

Sorry, but can someone please tell me how the hell Duncan at age 39 will be better than Cousins in 2016? He'll probably play around 27 mpg or so and average around 13ppg/8 rpg. He'll still be a good player but he won't even be close to Cousins.
