Looks like lebron didn't want take any distractions into the season. Can't blame him for that.

Of course it does.
We all knew when He signed back with CLE that his buddy TT, who was repped by Rich Paul, was going to get massively overpaid by the Cavs. LeBron certainly wasn't going to side with ownership, especially in this case.

I can't wait to see what Mozgov asks for next season. It's going to be super max

Re: Cavaliers agree to 5-year, $82M contract with RFA Tristan Thompson
Cavs fans continued to state that Gilbert didn't care about the luxury / repeater taxes when people asked how they would be able to afford to retain everyone and no one wanted to believe. Overpay? Sure. Do I really care? No. There's literally no way it can come back to bite the Cavs because they're locked in long term to so many players that they'll exceed the cap regardless and with the cap increasing next season, the luxury and repeater taxes will end up being significantly less than what they'd be under the current salary cap.
Personally, I am just glad he'll be there opening night. Continuity is the most underrated thing in team sports and the earlier Thompson signed the deal, the better off the on-court product will be over the long haul.

He made a very, very smart move in taking this deal. It's among the biggest overpays in NBA history. But I'm sure Dan Gilbert isn't too upset about that, he's after a championship and even though TT is nowhere near worth 16+ yearly the team is better off with him than without him.

Mozgov's age will probably hinder his chances to get a massive deal, but it won't matter because he'll re-sign as well.

I regretfully congratulate the Cavaliers for getting it done. Distractions are never good. Time to get all the ducks in a row. As an anti-fan of their team, I'm disappointed. It's hard to believe that anything stops them now. In the East they will definitely crush.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Can someone fill me in on this agent of Thompson's Rich paul, and how he has the ability to get people paid like some said? Also when people say Lebron backed them into a corner what does that mean? What did he do?

Meh, it screws up their flexibility for a mediocre player, no way the FO would cave like this when they have all the leverage..

Is there anybody who honestly didn't see this coming? No coincidence that it was reported James was upset then a deal was reached shortly after. Top to bottom James runs the cavs.

That depends on what you consider leverage. The Cavs needed THompson on the court as soon as possible for rotation and defensive purposes. The longer he held out, the longer it would take to work him back into the system and rotation. It's already going to be hard enough playing without Kyrie and Shump and then working them back in to the rotation, might as well get Thompson back in the fold with a deal only SLIGHTLY more than what he was originally offered.

Glad LeBron's milking GIlbert for all he's worth after that infamous letter.

Greedy? He saw an opportunity to get a boatload of money and took it. Everyone here would have done exactly what he did. Pro athletes only have a small shelf life so good for him for maximising his earnings.
You'd be right about him if he was left with nothing. But clearly he knew that he'd get paid regardless so he played this close to perfectly. All he did was fight for what he knew he was worth and I can't hate anyone for doing that - and getting the money.

Dangerous precedent set by the cavs. No way Mozgov, a superior player accepts anything less than Tristans yearly salary next summer. That's the big issue with the contract.

What about those " at least three team willing to offer him max deal"
Also how much is Vučević paid ? That deal will be one of the best bargains like Curry's.
