Guess who came in last place in the Annual Grantland League Pass Rankings...

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-annual-nba-league-pass-rankings-part-1-2/

30. CHARLOTTE HORNETS (20 points)

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s injury cost Charlotte at least three spots. He is a balls-out daredevil who injects a sleepy team with a dose of unpredictability.

The Hornets under Steve Clifford have been boring, and it has worked. They slow it down, pound the post, let Kemba Walker launch barfy midrangers, and sit back in perhaps the league’s most conservative defensive scheme. Boring can win, but it’s bad TV.

Charlotte in the preseason has embraced fun, and if that lasts, the Hornets could make this ranking look silly. They’re bombing 3s and the trio of Cody Zeller, Frank Kaminsky, and Spencer Hawes are pinging smart passes. Zeller is good for a random thunder dunk every few games. Professor Al Jefferson pump-fakes suckers out of their shoes on the left block, but only crazed footwork fetishists are flipping channels to watch a Big Al hot streak. Jeremy Lin’s hair bumps up the comedy score, but there isn’t enough entertainment here — yet, at least — beyond the killer honeycomb court and solid broadcast work of Dell Curry, Stephanie Ready, and the rest of the crew.

At least we know Charlotte will be trying all season. Jobs across the organization are in jeopardy if the Hornets miss the playoffs again.

Honestly, we can't really blame them, based on last season. We were painful to watch last year. Why should non-fan trust that we'll be more entertaining this year. Obviously if this new system of shooters, 3s and passing sticks, we'll be a lot more fun than last year. But we also know that Clifford, Kemba and Jefferson might fall back into old habits, slow pace, bad offense, no ball movement etc...

We do have a fantastic court and a fantastic broadcasting crew which is worth a few spots.

Looks like Lance got plugged in to the starting lineup last night and LAC pummeled GSW (Curry sat out).

Lance's line: 18 minutes, 4 pts, 2-3 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2 boards, 3 assists, 4 fouls, 1 stl, 1 to.

Who do you like to meet up in the ECF? Cavs and who else?

My dark horse is the Pistons: What if Drummond turns into Orlando Dwight? Jackson/Caldwell-Pope take a step up. Jennings comes back in 2016 for some nice guard depth. Chance Stanley Johnson is really good.

So Tristan Thompson is now one of the five worst contracts I've ever seen.

So the Knicks apparently plan on starting Porzingis from day one. Meanwhile in Charlotte, Clifford isn't giving Frank Kaminsky minutes over Marvin Williams, Spencer Hawes, or Tyler Hansbrough. #BigRedDog

I stick to what I've been saying- if Biz was on the Cavaliers, he would've been worth TT's perceived value. That's how insane this situation is.

Porzingis is the real deal. May take him a year or two though.

CDR just got cut loose. Far better use of a 15th spot than wilkins/harrison.

Kemba vs Jeremy Lin

Post#39 » by SuperKato » Fri Oct 23, 2015 9:24 pm

Looks like Kemba already know about Jeremy Lin in college.

They played against each other, now they are on the same team. What a coincidence.

We need to get CDR back. An MKG injury is what got CDR here in the first place two years ago. Wouldn't mind round 2.
