They really do. They play every facet of the game well. Cespedes' run was classic NL baseball.

I believe it. I would've never imagined we'd be up 3-0 and that Daniel Murphy would have 5 post season HRs.

Honestly, I've been a Mets fan since '67 and I distinctly remember the '69 pennant race with the Cubs. I remember the Bartman incident. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Cubs and if the Mets weren't in it, I'd be rooting for them.

Yeah I have heard everything from blaming Maddon and calling him a terrible manager to blaming the whole rebuild and calling it a waste of time.

Man, just now, I almost had a free ticket to tonight's game drop in my lap, but it got snatched up by a Cub fan. Oh well, with the train schedule out here, I wouldn't get home until 1:30 AM, etc. Too last-minute, I don't have my hat or Teufel jersey with me, too much hassle. Besides, I don't want to jinx the Mets, either.

What do you mean our hitting isn't great? After the all star break we were first in runs for the NL, I know we mostly faced bad teams during that stretch but to post the best offense after the break isn't easy. Also for the year, all of our regulars (except for Flores) posted an OPS+ of over an 100.

Curtis Granderson — 129
David Wright — 128
Daniel Murphy — 113
Yoenis Cespedes — 157
Lucas Duda — 132
Travis d'Arnaud — 128
Michael Conforto — 132
Wilmer Flores — 95

So we basically have an above average hitter in the 1-7 spots. And Flores wasn't that far off of being an average hitter himself.

I'm not trying to say that this offense is the greatest or that the offense is better than the Cubs but I never understood why people are saying this offense isn't great.

1-Harvey
2-Thor
3-Degrom
4-Matz
5-Harvey
6-Thor
7-Degrom

Thor pitching at home both games. Degrom lined up to pitch the most pivotal games. Harvey in position to set the tone of the series and pitch big game 5 depending how things turn out. Matz gets a nonetheless important game right in the middle. I love it

The pitching has played out exactly like how I said. Well with the way our rotation is pitching it doesnt really matter in what order they started.

I don't think Maddon has made any major mistakes tbh. Lester pitched well but didn't get any support. The Cubs had deGrom on the ropes early but couldn't put him away. Arietta just didn't pitch that well but he's been off his game throughout the playoffs so far. And yesterday, the Cubs defense was putrid. Montero allow that 3rd strike get by him was inexcusable. Pitchers not holding runners on. Bryant with the double clutch on the ground ball to 3B. Duda's hit past the shift. Solar in RF. I don't think Maddon should be blamed for any of that.

The Cubs should've traded for more pitching by trading one or more of their hitters. Schwarber, to me, is a DH. Russell, Castro and Baez are redundant. One of them should've been traded.

We have Matz tonight. Cubs can definitely hit him of Matz doesn't bring his best stuff. If they win they go back to their top 2 guys

Not that we care, and I think it worked in our favor, but does anyone have any idea why Maddon pulled his starter last night after 4 innings of what was some pretty solid pitching? Yes, he's known for pulling ineffective starters quickly, but that didn't seem to be the case last night. I'm lost on what his strategy was.

What scares me is that Matz game is to throw fastballs up in the zone to set up his curveball. If Matz isnt on point with his fastball being away than the cubs can quickly hit a few homers. Schwarbeast hit a good fastball away from the zone against Degrom yesterday.

Those stats are impressive. Not a lot of big names or bats but they're getting the job done.

Man, TBS sure knows how to stretch a pre-game show.

Was hoping for a longer series, and now it's a laugher. Sorry Cubs, your run ends here.

That's Duda for you. He's been crap with the bat most of the post season.

Now he has 5 RBIs in Game 4 with 7 innings to go.
