Andy is still better than TT though.

What year are you living in ? Andy was one of the worst defenders in the league last year. The only thing he can do is hit a 10 foot jumper and sometimes finish around the rim. He's not even that good of a rebounder anymore.

Still a better player than TT, look at any stats you want, or use your eye test.

I am using my eyes. I watched every game last year and the past 20 years. Andy is terrible on defense. He has no lateral quickness anymore and isn't strong enough to body anyone up in the post. The only reason he scored last year is because Lebron was force feeding bounce passes into him. Which usually resulted in a turnover.

every announced extension lately makes me jealous about how loyal the Spurs' players are to the organization

It's an overpay, but to me he showed that he isn't just a rebounder, he's a playoff level rebounder and defender. A guy who can dominate on the glass in the playoffs is pretty valuable. If they can keep Mozgov, I have no issue with the signing.

In his defense at that time last year the whole team defense was horrible. But offensively he did a lot more than just getting bounce passes from lebron.

How many agents have Lebron James as his negotiator?

As with most people, I think the contract is preposterous.

But many teams would love an owner willing to pay this much for the best chance at a championship.

If that was the case TT would have gotten the 95M he wanted.

worth it. D was good and rebounding was solid. 16.4 mill a year for his best years is worth it considering elevated cap will make this equivalent to 12 mill a year.

how are people saying Rich Paul "won" or "gets people paid"?

Dude caused a **** of drama, missed camp, even threatening to take the QO (and failing to do that) . . . then took the original offer. That's insane.

He's not worth that much but the Cavs have an injury prone front court and apparently found it politically unappealing to just trade for a replacement with their TE and pick.

I think most everyone on this thread is operating based on an out-dated perspective. The cap is going up 30 million next season. 30. Then it will likely jump another 10m the following season.

In a market like that, its nearly impossible to overpay. This contract is bad for this year, but the final 3 years will span the NBA coming influx of cash. Its a player's market and smart NBA teams will do whatever they have to do to secure talent. Even though TT is just as mediocre as everyone knows he is, this is still a pretty solid deal for each team, especially since the Cavs are going for it all right now and wouldn't have had much flexibility above the cap anyway.

If you think this deal is crazy, wait until Alex Len gets $100m and everyone declares it a bargain.

Because he did win. He got an offensive rebounder 82M. All that drama means nothing.

Btw, this might set a bad precedent where more superstar players (e.g. Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant) get intimate with sports agencies and start demanding that they will leave unless a mediocre player on a team (who is also signed with that agency) is taken care of as well.

Enes Kanter, Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon might argue that is already happening.

Well, the operation would go something lik this (as an example). From now on, all the rookies drafted or all the players that the Cavs sign also are expected to sign with Klutch and Rich Paul. Accordingly, when their contracts are up, Lebron will make sure that you are overpaid and this can provide financial benefits to Lebron in the long-run with his "relationship" with Klutch. Accordingly, each of the superstars can do the same for their respective teams and it would be like a business within a business. Once the model is set, then everyone would follow and owners would lose quite a bit of profit if this becomes systematic.
