He suggested he wouldn't re-sign with them if he's still a backup and won't be happy with that role for much longer at all, although he understands the situation and if he stays in Atlanta he'll be a professional until the contract expires.

The Hawks are in the unenviable position of appearing to have a capped ceiling. Schroeder is one of the few players they have actually who could make a big jump.
If that is the case, maybe Teague would be the one who becomes available. We know Hammond tried his best to get him before and he has gotten a lot better since...but of course Kidd's opinion of our PG's in particular probably holds a whole lot of weight.
Either or I suppose. They have to pick one. We're not in position to be choosy given what we have and the fact both would fit our team significantly better than him.
