This. They have the opportunity to kick Lakers when they're down and they are taking it at every chance. Still they are much better than the player comparison board imo. That board drives me nuts. :D

When you go to the park, do you prefer rice or bread?

What's surprised and pleased me the most with Nance is his improved jumpshot. When I watched him in summer league, his mechanics were so awful I figured he had no chance of ever becoming anything resembling a jump shooter. Now, his shot looks smooth. It's a little slow but that will come. All he has to do is be able to knock down a jumper and he could contribute this year.. which I did not figure would happen.

I think Nance might be a good Rick Fox for this team eventually... Especially next to Randle. They can both cover either forward and score in multiple ways. Randle can take the bigger 4s and Nance can take the quicker 3s.
Might not need a 3 as bad if he can continue to hustle and hit his shots.

Doing the numbers of our roster players per position, I realized that we will only have 8 players who can play the 1,2,3 positions and only 2 or maybe 3 (if its mwp who makes the cut) of those can play the 3. Since its unknown if Kobe will be allpwed to play the full schedule even if healthy, has Nance really been playing the 3? Has he established that he can stay with the faster 3s?

I dont mind nance and randle both on the floor as interchangeable forwards much like clarkson and russell at the guard spot. in terms of nance i think he has the size, speed, and strength to play both forward positions, much like a rashard lewis or tayshaun prince. i hope he can pull it off if need be.

Yeah, I said 'eventually'... I think he can do it but probably not immediately. There's a window of opportunity for over-sized guys playing out of natural position. They have to learn to play out of position while they still have the athleticism of youth that allows them to do it... Nance is 6'8"/210#... That's pretty much right on SF numbers... Maybe a little big, but just a hair.

I think by next season either Nance will be an effective SF or an undersized PF destined to ride the pine. That's just my opinion.

yeah, what I noticed too, his elbows are closer together and more square now. Its pretty much a drastic difference when compared to how he was shooting in the summer league. He seems to be a very coach-able guy.
