I was at the game, one of very few people I might add.. The place was 1/4 filled haha.
Anyway, Hezonja/Frye had it raining from 3 for a stretch there in the second half and Vucevic was putting on a show in the paint. Slowly but surely the Magic took back the lead and were even up 6 pts with 1:58 to go but Nate Robinson drilled 2 3's to tie it. Vucevic missed the potential game winner. So OT began and again Vucevic had some nice plays, and Fournier drilled a dagger 3 if I remember correctly. Was a good game, considering it was preseason.
I gave my tickets to my sports hating daughter and her boyfriend. Even she had to admit it was fun, winning is always fun, preseason or not! It cost money to go, parking, food, etc., not spending it on preseason anymore. Can't wait for Wednesday!

What's with these awful camera angles?
All Magic games during preseason were broadcasted like this, it's terrible.
Does anyone know why?
A lot of times the guy that cleans the floor was in front of the action last night.
I hope the good old sideline camera comes back once the season begins.

There was no TV broadcast. That was the jumbotron's feed.

The Defense is getting closer to what i'd like to see, i actually like the offense we're running. We minimize the isolations and increase the ball movement. There is still a few things we need to stamp out before the opener but we're getting better from my eyes, just wish we had everyone healthy with no minutes restrictions.

Yeah I don't know what our efficiency is like, but the offense has to be better than a high PnR with Oladipo and Vucevic every time down the floor. At least it's less predictable.
Like Skiles said, it only has to be "good enough" this season so long as the defense is elite.

There is the minutes restriction, and another thing Is Skiles seems to like Fourner as a starter and be their designated shooter or floor spacer in their first 5.
When will the minutes restriction of Gordon be lifted?
It feels like he's been on a minutes restriction since the moment we drafted him. Very frustrating. No idea when it will be lifted, but hopefully we will let this beast run free sooner than later. He's done a great job of working on his game by himself, but we've done a horrible job of developing him.
Exactly. He is super talented, but there seems to be a reason all the time not to put him on the floor. Early in camp, there were talks that SKiles is super high on the kid and might even start him with Tobias or even over Tobias. It has been what 2 weeks since he has returned to full court action, but he is just getting 15 mpg, sat out a game in between. And the worst sign for me is, he is not getting much run with the starters which means Skiles has no intention to start this kid at least not anytime soon.
I think Skiles has already set his first 5, Vuc, Tobias, Fourner, Oladipo, Payton. He has put Fournier there to be their designated shooter to space the floor for Oladipo. I am not sure AG will crack 20mpg in the first few weeks even months, especially if Orlando starts to win some games.
WHile AG is super talented, I hate this to be an Otto Porter situation where he can't get consistent PT until his 3rd year in the league.

Re: Pelicans @ Magic Game Thread
Two small forwards with similar skill set rarely works. If one of them is a known threat at the rainbow that might work. Teams will just play zone defense and Vucevic's life will be miserable. Payton can't shoot either. Oladipo is at best just an average at making 3's. That's where Hezonja and Fournier comes in. Even if they are off, people are still coming out for them.
Maybe on offense, time to bring back what brought us to the Finals.
Four out, one in.

Well, aaron has been injured. Thats why hes getting a slow start to his career. The 1st injury was not his fault but the second one was totally his fault. Can you imagine if you were hennigan and you drafted this kid who you were planning on playing alot in his second year, he looks like a star in the summer league and then you find out he breaks his GD jaw while roughhousing with his brother? I would have a **** coniption. This **** could **** up everything defensively for us because aaron was supposed to be a vital part of the defense. I would call up aaron and ream his dumbass the **** out because rob could lose his job this year all because the team wouldnt do well because your dumbass star defender broke his goddamn jaw doing something stupid and completely non basketball related.
Skiles has no other choice but to bring him along slowly. The magic have made every effort to develop this kid but now the reason why its being stunted is all because of aaron's fault.

Skiles needs to start the guys that are going to put us in the best position to win games, not the players than fans want to see start. I'm not saying AG isn't worthy of starting but there's this emphasis on who's name is called in the starting lineup like it matters. Some of you act like he's not going to get any minutes. He'll likely get close to starter minutes.
