Sweet baby Jesus!

A thread about the waiving of Jimmer and somehow you post the Kings' past 5 years of draft selections?

Great!

This summer I've learned from the GB that Giannis' ceiling is a poor man's Anthony Randolph, Jabari died, Monroe is Kanter's brain damaged twin defensively, and MCW is literally satan. Gotta take this stuff less seriously man.

You might be better off avoiding the GB if you are this sensitive mate.

This isn't the matter of being sensitive.

It's about a mod derailing the thread. The thread is about the Spurs waive Jimmer and yet, you come in here and list the Kings' past 5 draft selections. Yes, the Kings has had a poor draft record post-Cousins. What does that have to do with the original point of the thread?

At this point, I couldn't care less on people's opinion about the Kings. Most of you guys will have the same opinion about them unless the Kings do something about it. Actions speak louder than words.

My point of my previous post is that we have a mod in this thread derailing the thread topic. It's mostly observation tbh.

Can you read the OP's mind?

The guy said he is posting this because GB has been lacking new material. Might as well make a thread about Spurs waiving Jimmer.

I would actually tune in this thread if the posts here aren't derail-worthy but then again, it has been the case.

Even though he's undersized, I still thought he'd find a place in the NBA. he still might, he can shoot the ball.

C'mon now, mods are people too.
The point of the thread was Jimmer sucks. We're not allowed to aim higher? Like the Kings FO sucks?
Some of this should surely be in green font. I'm so confused.

Mods are people, yes. I do agree with that. But that wasn't my point.

There is a reason why posters like Slava are mods in the first place. If mods display deviance, what kind of example that shows to non-mod posters?

That is what I've thought too. Maybe a place as a set piece shooter.

There are stories that he was an epic shooter (in practice). The guy was letting it rip in NCAA.

I've never heard anything negative about his attitude before. So, it was a surprise to me on what an assistant said about Jimmer.

I just was looking for the Kings draft war room youtube vid, and shockingly enough I can't find it anywhere. They were creaming in their pants that that Staukas was on the board when they drafted him.

You mean the one where they brought in half a dozen internet randos to give them scouting advice? That was magical.

Yeah, looks like the Kings took it down. The links in the old Grantland article are dead. Evidently, the Sacto front office has moved into the DELETE F-ING EVERYTHING phase of the shaming process.

Almost all ESPN/Grantland videos have been taken down. http://techcrunch.com/2015/10/23/youtube-red-creators/

Every Spurs fan knew that this would happen the minute they signed him. Spurs had already 3 PG's.
I think they wanted to have a close view on Jimmer just in case, get him a chance somewhere else or maybe sign him for Spurs' D-League team.

I tried to cool the enthusiasm for Stauskas and was attacked by his many fans. He was going to be rookie of the year.
After watching Stauskas for two years at Michigan I said he lacked the athleticism to be a good def. player....the same thing that hampered Fredette's pro career.
I still think Stauskas can be a decent pro...comparing him to Jimmer he's taller than Fredette, is an excellent shooter, and appears to have the right attitude to improve. If there's a spot in the league for Kyle Korver, i can't see why Stauskas can't have one.
Getting back to Fredette, his failure to make it is a jab in the face of people who say poor def. at the guard position doesn't matter. Fredette was a revolving door on def. He didn't have to be a great def., but his def. was terrible. Every player he tried to guard upped their ppg going by him for easy layups.
I liked Jimmer....he could nail threes on the dead run off the dribble which is not a widely shared skill. But unless you're extremely valuable on the off side, you have to be somewhat able on the def. side. He was just too inadequate defensively.

Curry is a better shooter, has a quicker release, a much better handle, and has better court vision. Not really surprising.

Curry is also a better athlete. He's not Westbrook or Rose, but he's a grade better than Fredette athletically. And while not a great defender, definitely better than Fredette's whose def. was ghastly awful.

While they were both viewed as below average athletes coming out of college I agree that Curry is clearly the superior athlete. I just find it interesting that Fredette can't find a place in the league anywhere. I mean you have to imagine even if Curry were a worse athlete he would still have a place in the league as a bench scorer.
