He gave us his everything to and for us. Any glimmer of hope for Minnesota Basketball was because of him.

Luck was not on our side today, but he has impacted all our lives so much, that he will be a part of this journey through it all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and ours, as the Timberwolves have been a large reason for my passion in life and a better tomorrow.

Season is dedicated to Flip.

This may sound weird, but I almost feel like the team should retire No. 14 (his number at Univ. of Minnesota) in his honor.

Unbelievably horrible. Never thought this would be the case when he was diagnosed with a treatable form of cancer.

I was only adding that because it wasn't a number he was tied to with the Wolves.

Memory eternal to Flip.

This is horrible. Flip was only 60 years old and the team he picked and put together is finally ready to come out and do something. I hate that he will not be here in flesh to see it. I know he will be watching from heaven. He was our best coach and best GM. I hope we can put his name up as a ring of honor as opposed to a jersey being retired.

Won't lie, when my wife told me this a few minutes ago I started crying. I have so many memories of Flip as our coach that finally got us into the playoffs. He and KG are hand in hand in my memories for making this franchise worth something.

I will only have positive memories about him. He gave so much to the franchise, more than anyone else who never stepped on the floor. He will not be forgotten by the basketball community in the state. May he rest in peace.

Sorry bro, this is going to be an emotional week for both players and fans alike. Me as well, my vivid memories of the Timberwolves first came when my Dad took me to watch Flip and KG at the target center over a decade ago. Been a fan ever since. No man more dedicated to this franchise than Flip. I hope it wasn't the reason his health deteriorated so quickly.
