I always felt like Ben Gordon was a contract player. Didn't think he played so hot after he got it.

Yeah, I actually recall feeling that way too. Very talented though, which always makes that unfortunate.

Perfect example of why some players shouldn't just follow the money. He was such a beast in Chicago and then went to Detroit and basically ruined his career.

Watching the Lakers and looking at their lineup, it kills me...KILLS ME... to know we traded away their pick.

They will be one of the worst teams in the league this year....again.

But if they are one of the worst teams again, wouldn't their pick still be protected theoretically? :o

I think it's only top 2 protected this season? Or is that next season?

You have to figure that the bottom 3 teams in the west will be the Lakers, Wolves, Denver.

I really don't expect much from Portland or Dallas either. Their teams got stripped.

Consider that there are still some really bad teams in the east and the chances of the Lakers getting a 5-7 pick are high. :noway:

It will be scary if Minnesota gets another high pick and can combine KAT and Wiggins with another top young talent. They could be scary good in a few years.

Here is how I see the west playing out:

Top Dawgs
1. Houston (I bet they make a big move midseason to leapfrog GSW)
2. GSW
3. OKC
4. SAS

Playoffs:
5. Memphis
6. Clippers
7. Sac
8. Phx

Bubble:
9. NO
10. Utah
11. Dallas
12. Portland
13. Den
14. LAL
15. Minnesota

Utah will be better than Sactown ( Suicide Squad will be a crash n' burn trainwrec) imo and remain in contention for the eight seed along with us . NOLA will def make the postseaon and are probably ready to take the next step with AD's exponential development and Gentry's balanced coaching prowess
Jonestown Suicide Squad

My tiers are very similar to Lukas'

Could win the West
1. GSW
2. Thunder
3. Spurs

Playoff locks
4. Rockets
5. Grizzlies
6. Clippers

Competing for those last 2 spots
7. Pelicans
8. Suns
9. Kings

Won't be as competitive as people think
10. Utah
11. Dallas

Not terrible
12. Blazers
13. Lakers

Young and learning
14. Minny
15. Nuggets

Not sure if anyone's seen this/posted it elsewhere - but there's an EPIC 120+ page season preview put out by bball breakdown.

It's insane. And free:

TJ McConnell makes the 76ers roster. Starter by the end of the season? #BearDown
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

So many players waived over the last few hours.

I really like that Aldemir as a rebounder, surprised 76ers just ate his $3m deal.

Granger waived by the Pistons. Such a shame what happened to his career, he was a pretty underrated two-way player during his (brief) peak...

Just watched Bulls beat Cavs. Mirotic is such a dynamic player: great handles, high IQ, great shooting from pretty much anywhere, and decent defense it seemed to me. It will be next to impossible to get him from the Bulls for the next few years. I wonder though if we could somehow get Dario Saric from the Sixers? For you European posters how does Saric's game compare to Mirotic?

Mirotic has really high IQ and amazing shooting ability. Terrible defender though.
