at least we know he might have 1 extra fan in the seats tomorrow.
Indeed
How do you Hornets fans like Kaminsky so far?
We have some ardent Kaminsmania here on the Heat board it can get pretty annoying. They are still pretty hung up on him
He's looked ok, offensively we know what he is, and he's already pretty close to that, aka a really good 3 point shooting big that has a considerable ability to put it on the floor as well (say better Spencer Hawes, which makes them so single mindedly taking him a bit weird since... they GOT SPENCER HAWES who's only 5 years older! 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE DRAFT!) in the pre-season i think the knock I have is that after he gets by people on close out he took way too many floaters that's not going in, he need to either try to take it to the hole or find a pass when someone must be open in that situation. I think that should happen eventually.
Defensively it's also more or less what we expected, he's a weird tweener of 4/5 not unlike Chris Bosh except without the same athleticism. figuring out that end would be a problem but hey, this is a team that magically made a great defense out of Al Jefferson at center, I'm guessing the longer term plan is that he's the center going forward, they cover his arse with their scheme and MKG, and then they have this really interesting setup where they basically have their 5 always at the 3 point line on offense and force opposing teams into really tough switches . (and they carry a big brusier as backup center just incase some matchup really kills him.)
I think he'll pan out to be a surprisingly useful role player if they get the defense aspect figured out that might create a lot of match up problems (last couple year several of those stretch 5 guys had ridiculous good RPM.). at 9 that's fine, the rumored Boston deal was so awesome that Miami ( a team that owes 3 future first round picks versus the Hornet's zero.) totally passed on the same deal.
The Hornets as most people probably know by now had a great pre-season , but they start their first 6 game @Mia @Atl vs Atl vs Chi @Dal @SAN man, that's rough, if they make it out with 2-3 win from that they're probably a legit playoff team barring further injury. (though the rest of their November schedule is much easier. and they might catch Cleveland when it's still completely undermanned and not caring.)
