Meanwhile, Nate Wolters is back in the NBA.

The New Orleans Pelicans are "zeroing in" on signing Nate Wolters on a 10-day contract.

Wolters cleared waivers after being released by the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Pelicans were previously considering Mike James and Gal Mekel before Wolters became available.

Yeah, or else maybe he'll play ball in China or Europe for some multiple $$ of what the guy who owns that grocery store makes.

But I'll be surprised if he doesn't have a multi-year, productive NBA career. He's good.

Yea I was just kidding. He'll get another 10 day...if that doesn't work out he'll end up in the NBDL or China.

Who knows - Wolters could end up like Khris Middleton - the 39th pick in the 2012 draft. The Pistons barely used him as a rookie and traded him as an afterthought the next season to Milwaukee in the Brandon Jennings trade. He's gradually improved to the point that he's arguably the Bucks top player - even as they're somehow 4 games over .500 - coming along somewhat like Jimmy Butler has.

This dude is a straight up thug. Hope they can handle him, because we haven't had luck with disciplinary problems in the past.

On top of that they passed up a much better player who will have a terrific career in the NBA.

Rice was the 2013 draft. Clarkson was 2014. If I recall correctly, the Wiz management sold... the Clarkson pick.

I argued that he and not Demarcus Cousins has serious issues. Remember Dat2U? If you're lurking and not banned...

AFM, I was more pissed about THAT kid being the guy they traded Wolters over.

In fairness, I also thought pre-draft Tyreke Evans might be bad news--I am wrong my share. I didn't dislike Evans, however.

OTOH, Rice Jr dissed his dad, was loathed by GA Tech coaches pre draft AND a firearm was discharged from HIS car before the draft. For all these reasons I disliked Rice before the draft.

That said, he had outstanding D-League stats. He played better than rookie Otto in summer league. Rice Jr. stayed out of trouble as a rookie. FWIW, I sided with Rice Jr. after he and Wittman fell out.

If you draft a thug do show patience and don't expect anything but thug.
