I would get rid of both pgs and go after the real deal in Matthew Dellavedova. This guy is stud that can shoot and doesn't force stupid turnovers.

We never got into a rhythm in the first half since it looked like there was a whistle on every two possessions. Then in the third quarter guys didn't wanna get into further foul trouble, that's when defense fell apart. Mavs were shooting 10/17 from 3 at one point compared to our terrible percentage. To me, only negatives were starters not starting well like we've seen in preseason and transition defense.

bwgood77 wrote:For the most part, this game seemed like an anomaly, because our shots were not falling and their shots just seemed to sink. But then again they were mostly vets and we are mostly young guys. Not an excuse, because this is a game we should have won, but I can't imagine we will often see a shooting night like that from our guys and so many shots just sinking for the others. Even with wide open shots, no team will often shoot 47% from 3.

I agree with this.

You guys have got to dump Kieff. I realize a lot of your main guys had off nights, but man did that guy make it clear that he didn't give an F tonight. Just embarrassing. Don't see how Hornacek tolerates much more of that.

Was really impressed by Booker. Not even 19 yet and the game didn't seem too big for him. And I have always loved Warren's old man at the Y offensive game. That's a pretty sweet wing duo of the future.

We hope... Horny will probably keep playing PJ and Weems ahead of those guys........smh.

It is possible for a team that's 100-1 to win the championship to lose a game.

Honestly though, if Kieff really is trying to play badly, and I still am not completely convinced he is....but if I see 3 games like this I will be, it will kill the team...that is our weakest position and if he doesn't put in an effort, and especially if he tries to be bad, there is zero chance we will be in the top 10 or 12 teams in the west.

I kind of wonder (but hate to make quick assumptions) if someone told him to try and get waived, but if he continues efforts like tonight, I would just bench him or send him home. I would not waive him because that would appease him and if I was the GM that would never happen....I would rather him sit in misery and and tank then trade him for scraps or waive him.

If we really do suck this year, it REALLY sucks this is another bad draft like last time we were bad.

But I don't think we will really suck, so getting a good guy at 13 this year might be just as probable as getting the 5th pick, and we may have gotten two of the better players outside of top 7 or so the last couple of drafts, so I am ok with building from the ground up.

As many say we won't be relevant for 10 years....that could be partly true because the west is so tough and many have young players and even the teams below us have some seemingly great young players, that if we just stock up with young guys that can be something exciting to watch....I am the type of person who always looks for silver lining when possible. I have suffered through years of my favorite teams being bad at times....like the Chargers sucking for years...and so far their record seems like they suck this year...they have played some good teams tough, but then their game against the Raiders this past week was somewhat like tonight for the Suns.

That was real ugly. I couldn't stand to watch anymore about mid way through the 3rd quarter so missed booker playing well so that sucked. Really really yuck performance all around.

Fire sale let's go!!
Nets trade: JJ/1st for Kieff/Knight
Heat trade: Deng/Anderson for Chandler/Tucker

New starting lineup: Bledsoe/Booker/Warren/Leur/Len
Soooo much more refreshing.

Other teams to consider would be Wizards (Nene for Kieff), Pistons (Jennings for Kieff LOL!). Maybe the Pacers would entertain this kinda deal of GHill/Budinger/JHill/Turner for Kieff/Knight.

Well, with a premier PF, it might have gone much differently tonight. I didn't think our ball movement and open looks were all that bad. We had few assists mostly because many open looks didn't go down. I can't imagine that will continue. What worries me more about tonight's game was the defense and rebounding. I thought that would improve.

The Mavs have arguably the least talented roster in the NBA (esp without Parsons) and for the Suns to get spanked by them in Phoenix in the home opener is pretty telling.

Rick Carslie is probably the 2nd best coach in the NBA and imo today proved what he can do even when he has complete crap and Dirk to work with.

Though Wesley, Deron and even Felton have been good players and are all vets and they all were on fire tonight....not to say that wasn't partially on our defense, but those guys have confidence...with vets I certainly wouldn't say they are the least talented...we all just though those three guys were washed up, but like you said, Carlisle is a great coach, so he seemed to get those guys going. We all know our team is a work in process, but of course that game was incredibly ugly, so we will see where we go from here.

This is what I hate about the first game of the year. An off night means the season is lost and everyone sucks and needs to be fired/traded.....
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Wesley is good but he's not even recovered by ACL injury and is said to be on limited minutes.

Felton is garbage. There's just no other way to say it. I think him and Perkins could perhaps be maybe the two worst players in the league.

Deron has been garbage even though he was good a long time ago. I doubt he has another night like this against better defenses.

And Zaza Pachulia...LOL

Just no excuses for us to get blown out like this after all the "playoffs or bust" the Suns players were talking about before the game.

Jon Leuer was our best player about 2 hours into the game.

What REALLY winds me up about Horny is that stupd Ryan Gosling-esque smirk he has on his face ALL GAME LONG. The one where you can't tell if he's happy, angry or doesn't even know what day it is. The only time he changes his annoying face is when we get a foul called against up and he has a "you can't be serious" laugh.

Plus who are his two sidekicks? The bald guy and the small guy?? They are the same as last season so PLEASE tell me one of them isn't a defensive coach becasuse if so he should've been LONG gone after the garbage D they played last season!!!

Long long long season. Thanks for giving up our future for knight McD

How did the future do last night? Oh that's right, we have no idea who that pick will even be. You guys cry about not being good then b*tch about trading a future draft pick who will probably take a few years to become our future anyways. I am just shaking my head at just about every post here.
