ESPN projects, the Jazz.

Oh, and the Blazers over the Kings as well. <3

Shocked this thread is still going on. Cousins/Gay/WCS to me are arguable with the Jazz front court and our guards and bench are better

But we will see starting in a few weeks

One has to believe that Cousins is actually going to significantly improve on his offensive efficacy in order for him to actually project as anything clearly above neutral in offensive impact, taking Iverson-esque usage on a big is not a good strategy in the best of times, but even more so for someone who's clearly not very productive per-posession. While a guy like Gobert is plenty impactful whether he's taking 0 shots or 10 shots, add that to underrated guys like Favors and Hayward, and it wouldn't be tough to see the Jazz FC winning out...

As for the guards, while the Kings definitely have a talent advantage, the synergy is pretty crap, as the last thing a post player like Cousins needs is a ball-dominant guard who doesn't really score well anywhere....

Cousins is impactful regardless of his shots, he is one of the best defensive centers in the game. The fact that he can't be guarded one on one and the impact that has offensively for his teammates can only be by advanced stats. There is a lot of factors that went in to his low FG%, being overused on the perimeter by scheme, meningitis, quitting on Corbin where he posted his worst stats, etc. I do expect that to go up with a better surrounding cast, better coaching and better health

Aside from the better guards the Kings have one of the best benches in the league IMO (Collison, Belinelli, Koufos, etc.), and I don't believe the Jazz are strong in this suit

Don't know how anyone can still put the Jazz over the Kings after the showing against the Clippers.

Kings are stacked, bench is solid, Boogie will be Boogie.

There's this thing called sample size...

The Pistons destroyed a team (Hawks) that won 60 games last year, does that mean that the Pistons are going to be ECF contenders?...

I'm not dimishing the Pistons, they will be much better than people expect, but this loss by the Jazz doesn't mean what you're trying to make it.

I'd refer you to the string of 30 Jazz games to finish the season and the history of the Kings (and Cousins for that matter) as our sample.

Would still take Favors over Cousins too. Don't care if you flame me. By the end of their careers you will see who will have been the better bet. I'll put my money on Favors. You'll see in time, I'm just well ahead of most people on this one. Cousins is a ticking time-bomb at every moment. Turmoil will always surround him. One day his fanboys will have to own up to that, but that will take time.

You are basketball insane. And not the fun crossdressing kind pioneered by Dennis Rodman.

But its ok, Boogie is actually a pretty chill guy off the court. I'm sure he'll invite Favors to his HOF induction ceremony.

Even before the start of the season, I pegged the Kings as taking the 8th spot. Jazz are a good team, but they don't have enough pieces especially with Exum out. I'm not saying Jazz are a bad team, but the Kings are better.

Everyone knows how Cousins is like and they love him for it. Could he improve his attitude? Sure, but he'll give you 24,10 every night regardless

I'd take Cousins if I had some guarantee he'd keep his head on straight. Without that guarantee I'll stick with Favors as well.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

So? The Jazz beat every elite team in the league last year. All of them. Some of them twice.
The Kings managed a semi competitive game at home against the predicted west 4th seed. Good for them.

Damn! Who knew the Blazers were so much better than the Kings after last night? Losing by 7 points to the Clippers is obviously the mark of great success!

That's a bit like somebody 25 years ago saying "I'd take Barkley if I had some guarantee he'd keep his head on straight. Without that guarantee I'll stick with Oakley."

Well, the Kings showed last night that they have a major problem with spacing. That is why they got down by 15 so fast. It can be helped by moving Gay to the 4 and adding another shooter in his place, but we will see if Karl is willing to make that adjustment. If not, we are in danger.

The safe pick is the Jazz, but I think the Kings could really surprise people this year. Boogie could break out, Rondo could bounce back, Gay could shine as a stretch 4, and Bellinelli could provide spacing. On the other hand, they could get into 2 or more fights in the next game and/or practice.

Turmoil always surrounded Wilt Chamberlin, Charles Barkley, Dennis Rodman, and Shaq, and they're all in the hall of fame.

Cousins lacks discipline, but he doesn't lack athleticism or talent. He had a game last year where he had more points and rebounds than Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan combined. I wouldn't be surprised if Boogie got some MVP votes this year. I also wouldn't be surprised if he got suspended. We'll just have to wait and see.

Very questionable, Rondo and McLemore didn't have a stellar first outing together, Collison looks like your best guard. Hood was impressive but the Jazz PG was clearly MIA. Burks was impressive off the bench but SAC's bench as a whole was better than UTH's. This was the first game of the season, so room for improvement on both side but that statement was very fictional IMO.

You're entitled to your opinion. I just simply would take him over Cousins and it wouldn't be a hard decision. I don't care if Cousins will average a few more pts and rebounds than Favors a game. I'll take Favors 19 and 9 and 24 PER, elite defense, winning plays, team approach over Cousins "ITS ALL ABOUT MEEEEEE!!!!" "WAAHHHHHH, I DIDN"T GET MY WAY!"" any day. Cousins' teammates walk on eggshells trying to appease him. No thanks.
