This team needs another small forward with MKG out all, or nearly all, the season. If you can overlook the ugly tatoos, James Johnson on the Raptors has a very similar skill set, and the coach, Dwane Casey, hates him for unknown reasons. Whom can we trade to get him on the Hornets? Roberts would work per the ESPN trade machine.
I've thrown around Roberts+PJ+2nd for Johnson.

I'd love to have Johnson here. Doesn't seem like the type of player who get a ton of minutes with Clifford though. He'd be a fun one to watch in a losing season.

He's pretty much a poor man's MKG. He'd be able to replace a good chunk of his defense..

James Johnson makes a lot of sense for this team.

If the PJ/Roberts/2nd package proposed would interest Toronto, Charlotte should take a hard look...although with roberts gone they'd need to consider a third PG

We've still got Harrison as a 3rd PG. And I think in a pinch, we could have Batum handling the ball for a few minutes per game as well.

wouldn't give a pick for gordon.

been thinking about al + 2nd round pick for hibbert

resign hibbert and nic/lin/lamb

Kemba/Lin
Batum/Lamb/Daniels
MKG/draft pick/PJ
Frank/Zeller
Hibbert/Hawes

good mix of offense and defense (especially in the starting lineup)

If Gordon can continue doing what he did last night I gladly give up a pick.

First game shows how far we still have to go, and potentially the size of our warts.

Let the trade ideas flourish.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pnpu7ed

Charlotte gets: Kevin Martin + N. Bjelica
Minnesota gets: Al Jefferson = 2nd rd pick (CLE)

Kemba, Martin, Batum, Marv, Zeller
Lin, Lamb, PJ, Frank, Hawes
Psycho, Roberts, Daniels

This is one of the only Al trades I can come up with that MIGHT be possible and would actually be helpful to us. Gives Minny over 10 million in cap relief next season and a late pick for a guy they don't want anyways. A Kemba/Martin backcourt might be problematic on defense, but hopefully our scheme could hide it or we could just bring Martin off the bench.

You guys are going to love this next doozy...
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pza39hn

Charlotte gets: Gerald Henderson + Chris Kaman
Minnesota gets: Al Jefferson + 2nd rd pick (CLE)

I'm not even going to explain it, but I would seriously do that trade...

From Minnesota's perspective I can tell you there is absolutely no chance. The Wolves are fully stocked for bigs and have no need for Jefferson. The justification that Minnesota needs cap space next year is also wrong since they will likely have max money available without the trade. In addition, Bjelica looks like he's going to be pretty solid and a great bargain, so including him just makes the proposal worse for the Wolves.

I agree. I wouldn't do it if I were the T-Wolves either. I can't deny that it is purely wishful thinking. No one is giving us anything for Al. I dont even think the Blazers would consider the other deal I proposed.

Plus they already had their fair share of big Al and went something like 60-186.

Threw together some ideas from this page into a three team trade....

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qjdrgbp

Charlotte in: Martin, Dieng, Tyreke
Charlotte out: Al, Marvin

New Orleans in: Al, Marvin
New Orleans out: Ryan Anderson, Tyreke Evans

Minnesota in: Ryan Anderson
Minnesota out: Martin, Dieng

Tyreke Evans might be one of my least favorite players in the NBA and he's injured and this might ruin our capspace for this offseason, so I'm not even sure if I like this trade. But it does give us some nice wing depth with MKG out, allows us to move on from Al, and opens up some playing time for Frank. Ryan Anderson would be a good fit for Minnesota.

I like the idea of getting Dieng and his rookie contract but MN isn't trading him for an expiring. Or NOP trading 2 of their top 5 players for a backup center who would take the ball out of Davis's hands

I don't see those trades benefiting anyone besides Charlotte who would love that deal.

We could send PJ to Minnesota or something. Anyway, just an idea. I really don't like the thought of us trading for Tyreke Evans so I'd probably pass on the deal from our side.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
